"Armored Painting did an absolute fantastic job on our house. My wife and I could not be any happier with the way our house turned out. They were very neat, no paint drips or unwanted brush marks on any of the brick or driveway. Nelson walked the house with me and had his crew touch up any places they may have missed or just needed another coat of paint. They were able to finish my house in one day instead of the 5-7 days others were quoting; they had 7 or 8 guys working on the house. Extremely happy with the results, and would definitely recommend them to paint your house."

"Small jobs of fixing some soffit and skirting on mobile home and then had them come again to repair falling ceiling tile. They are fast, do excellent work and reasonable prices. They are a great couple. I’ll use them again and again."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Which style of corner bead you choose—whether metal or paper-faced—depends on your preference and if you’re comfortable using metal-cutting tools and a hammer. Metal bead offers superior strength and durability but its installation is slightly more involved. We’d say for most cases, it’s better to use metal bead but if you’re not comfortable working with metal, paper-faced bead will work just fine.

Textured walls can increase the value of your home if the style is modern and seen as a desirable feature and not something a prospective buyer would need to remedy. A good example of this is popcorn texture versus Venetian plaster. The plaster wall would add value to your home, whereas the popcorn texture may be something a new buyer would want to remove.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

For maximum stability, install grab bars on wall studs, as this will adequately support the weight. However, if you don't have access to studs, you can get by with wall anchors. If opting for the latter, choose specialty hollow wall anchors.

Mudding drywall is a DIY-friendly project, but patience and practice are required for perfection. If you’re working in a highly visible area and want the best possible finish, hiring a professional drywaller is worth the cost. Pros have the tools and know-how to ensure a smooth surface with fewer sanding sessions and less cleanup.
