"I've been bragging about Crow's Plumbing Service and my plumber Paul Donaldson ever since he installed a new tankless water heater for me on June 23rd. He didn't just sell me a new water heater, he tried to save my old one first so I wouldn't waste money if I didn't have to. I am so grateful."

"Cody responded to me quickly. They did a great job and spent time fixing a problem (connection with the city water system) that I didn't know was an issue. I will certainly use them again when I need a plumber. We, at some point, may be doing a bathtub and shower remodel. I highly recommend them!"

"I was very pleased with the remodel of the kitchen and the addition of the attic bedroom and bathroom in my one story house. The addition was complicated needing extension of part of the roof, rerouting of electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning. His crews did excellent work, and everything was organized and done with a high attention to details. The ideas put forth for my kitchen and the bedroom gave me options I hadn't considered and made for a much better finished product. Everyone was very professional and kept the area as clean and workable as possible as my kitchen went down to bare bones; they worked hard to minimize that down time which was important with my busy family. The finished product in both areas is amazing and functional, and I am very happy with it. Throughout the whole project, it was easy to be in touch when I had questions either by phone or email, and my questions were answered promptly. I have recommended this company to other people who are looking for remodeling work, and I am returning to them again for another project I need done."

"Excellent integrity and openness on status and actual needs. Was willing and able to provide sufficient information to satisfy the engineer's desire for details. Had a small quirk initially with scheduling the repair appointment with the office but they compensated by doing the job on a weekend without the usual additional charge."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

For a long time, copper was our only plumbing material option. Thankfully, that is no longer the case. Copper pipes have been used since the 1940s and became most popular around 1963. It wasn’t until the 1990s that PVC pipes became popular and began to replace copper pipes. Therefore, a house built before the 1990s without recent updates will likely contain more copper pipes.

PEX pipes last up to 50 years on average, though they often last longer. This lifespan is comparable to that of galvanized steel, which ranges from 40 to 100 years. However, PEX piping is less likely to crack or break due to temperature changes. Due to that and the fact that it's easier to work with, many plumbers and DIYers are choosing PEX tubes over traditional metal piping.

Plumbing installation costs in renovations typically range from $300 to $1,500 or more, depending on the complexity and specifics of the project.

Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.

No—you should always shut off the power and the water supply to the tank. Shutting off the water ensures that your water heater won’t continuously refill while you are trying to drain it, which would likely cause a big mess! Make sure to allow the hot water to cool completely before continuing the process of draining the heater.
