"Pinckard Landscaping installed two French drains and we now have a backyard rather than a mud pit. The projected was completed timely and accurately. We will call Pinckard Landscaping when we need ANY of the services they offer! Their pricing is fair. They usually are not the cheapest but they leave your property better than expected. You can call them with any questions or concerns and they are quick to respond. We highly recommend Pinckard to anyone needing patio, fencing, French drains, or any other service they offer."

"Jason as a sale manager always responded me promptly and exactly understood what I wanted and tried to achieve them. Jose and his crew completed a really good work. Materials used are all cedar wood, three 8x8 posts. They also put several curved brackets on between the posts and beam, and three-step caps on the top and the bottom of the posts, which makes the patio cover look pretty solid and also aesthetic. The gable part is attached to the existing roof above my breakfast room, and flat part is against the exterior wall of my living room. Since the roof shingles they used are exactly same as the existing roof, the cover looks like a part of my house. Overall, the patio cover they built has high quality, and the price they offered is quite competitive. I think this is really a worthwhile investment for my family, we now really enjoy the outdoor activities."

"The one tree (ash) in my backyard had been planted about 6 feet away from the house and its roots were starting to push up the flagstone patio and push the fence gate out of whack. I contacted Complete Tree Services through Angie's List in the morning and they called me back by lunchtime to set up a time so they could come out the next day and give me a free estimate. Carlos called me right after the evaluation and said that not only was the tree damaging the patio, it was too close to the roofline and was also showing signs of insect damage where all three main branches came off the trunk. He was able to schedule his crew to come out two days later. They had the whole tree taken down by lunch and finished off the grinding away of the stump soon after that. It was a good thing that the tree was taken down because it turned out that the insect damage went all the way down to the base of the tree. I was worried that the tree service might have problems getting the tree down since it was so close to the house and the fence, but everything went wonderfully. They hauled everything away, including a lot of chips that came off the stump during the grinding process, leaving just some sawdust where the tree used to be. Complete Tree Services did an excellent job!"

"I used Landscape Innovations for two projects a few weeks ago. The first was to replace my Bermuda Lawn with Palisades Zoysia and the second was to replace a generic walkway to my front door with a new Stamped Concrete walkway. Since I left a pretty mixed review for the sod replacement I feel like it is only fair to give a good review for the Concrete work done by Landscape Innovations. The removal of the "generic" concrete walkway and installation of a new stamped concrete walkway went very well and was completed in one day. They allowed me to pick the exact path that I wanted for the concrete forms and made sure that the color (red brick to match the house) was what I wanted. We are very pleased with the work and get many compliments from our neighbors on the new walkway."

Customers say: Quality work

"The Walkabout crew does a fabulous job. Mike is very knowledgeable about plants and flowers and what grows well in our Texas climate. He gives great design suggestions and is very mindful about budgeting. He even repurposed some existing stones to be used in the new landscape. He communicates in a timely fashion and stays on top to be sure the project is completed as promised."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.

Sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs support greener construction options.

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, with a potential return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 84%. The actual value added depends heavily on several factors. Climate is a major consideration; homes in warm, humid, or buggy areas (like the Southern regions) see the highest ROI. In colder climates, the value is diminished as the unconditioned space is unusable for much of the year. Other factors that influence the return include the quality of materials and construction, the size of the porch, and the local real estate market. While a screened-in porch can enhance curb appeal and attract potential buyers, it is not included in the home's total square footage for appraisal purposes.
