From calling 811 to mark utilities to hauling away the old slabs, they took care of it all. - Quality Workmanship: They meticulously prepped the ground, put in rebar for reinforcement, and then poured and finished the concrete flawlessly. - Speedy Turnaround: The entire process, from initial contact to installation, took only a week! - Value: Value: JFB Concrete offered a very reasonable price for the excellent work they performed. Overall, JFB Concrete provided a fantastic experience. Their professionalism, expertise, and efficiency made the entire repair process stress-free. "John and his sons were excellent! If we could give them a rating higher than a 5 we would! John explained everything in detail, and did every thing right! He went above and beyond, upon his suggestion of a renovation to our siding on our home we saved enough money to put new windows all around! Not just on the front of the house! all three of them go the extra mile and the take care of your stuff! Very respectful and excellent work we are delighted! we will have them back for interior work soon."

Small jobs welcome

"He replaced the driveway, a sidewalk to the front porch and built a step at the front door. The job was completed a couple of days ago so it is too early to tell about the quality, Everything looks very good . The price was very much in order. I recommend NS Concrete."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Many asphalt companies have experience with tar and chip paving, but not all. The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist. However, speaking with a driveway company is a great place to start, especially if they have experience with multiple materials.

Asphalt, which is stone mixed with tar, is the most common material for outdoor basketball courts because it’s so sturdy and versatile. However, you don't have to use it: another option is polymeric rubber, which has shock pads that can prevent injury. This option is a little more expensive, ranging between $16 and $25 per square foot.

Materials used for indoor basketball courts, such as hardwoods, aren’t really an option outdoors.

The cost to replace a driveway ranges from $8 to $15 per square foot, depending on factors that include material, size, and labor. If your driveway has deep cracks, potholes, or drainage issues (or if it’s simply past its prime), replacement might be the smarter investment over constant repairs. Resurfacing can be a cheaper alternative at $3 to $20 per square foot, but it won’t fix your driveway’s underlying problems.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.
