"I just had Ben from Garage Experts install an epoxy coating to my garage floor. They offered great floor preparation, a four layered coating, a lifetime warranty, and had great 5-star customer reviews. Anthony and Blake paid attention to all the installation details. The floor looks so good I don't want to drive a car on it. I highly recommend Garage Experts of North Houston and would use them again."

"We’ve had a great experience working with this company. The job was completed quickly, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. The quality of the concrete work and decorative finishes turned out excellent, and the job site was always kept clean and organized throughout the process. Customer service was professional, responsive, and easy to work with from start to finish. Everything was done exactly as promised, and the final result exceeded expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality concrete work done right."

"I initially contacted 3 companies to bid on a project to expand a ground level patio and second floor deck. It was evident through their salesman Tom that they had comprehensive experience to handle the project beginning with 3D renderings to submit for HOA approval along with suggestions to modify the original concept for cost control and the discussions of the materials for every surface. Perfection isn't achievable, but Martin clearly strove for it, and shared my focus on preventing water intrusion in the new structure. The result is a vastly improved outdoor space that I wish I had done years earlier."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

Apply two coats of paint to a garage floor after priming for optimal results. The first coat serves as a base layer, providing adhesion and coverage. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly before applying the second coat, typically after 12 to 24 hours. The second coat ensures even coverage and durability and enhances the floor's appearance. Additionally, applying two coats helps to create a more substantial barrier against stains, chemicals, and wear and tear, resulting in a longer-lasting finish.

Garage floor sealers last anywhere from one to 10 years on average, depending on the type of sealer you use and the traffic it’s exposed to. Acrylic sealers have the shortest longevity, whereas most other options can last anywhere from five to 10 years. If you use an acrylic sealant to protect against stains, reapply every one to two years. Reapply other types of concrete sealers every five years for the best results and maximum protection.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

The lifespan of stained concrete can range from five years to a lifetime, depending on the type of stain used and how well it is maintained. Acid-based stains penetrate the concrete and can last 20 years or more, while water-based stains are less durable and may last around five years, especially on outdoor surfaces exposed to UV light and weather. To preserve the color and extend the life of the finish, stained concrete should be properly sealed and then resealed every three to five years. Factors like foot traffic, climate, and proper initial application also affect its longevity.
