I got a chimney cap to prevent that from happening. I also got the flashings fixed, chimney resealed to prevent water leakage into the house when it rains. The last wind storm almost tore off my other chimney.Also chimney cap has a spark preventer. So when burning ambers float up chimney the cap prevents ambers from getting on my roof and starting fires that could have burned down my house. Jacob taught me alot.I like when contractors are honest about what is needed and what is not. I like contractors who can repair and have the knowledge to repair instead of having to replace. Replace means more expense. I understand sometimes replace is the only option. However, replacement should not always be the answer.
