"A Best Tree service does an A+ job EVERY TIME. I have been using them for at least 15 years to keep our shrubs trimmed and trees, including 3 Huge Red Oaks and a huge Pecan pruned and in good health. Jesus always returns my calls right away and usually will come by the next day to look at the job and give me a great price. I rarely make comments in this manner, but Jesus and his men deserve the praise!"

"The crew showed up on time and ready to get to work. After confirming what I wanted done - several trees trimmed, 3 removed, and stump grinding - the crew got busy. The three men on my job were friendly and professional. Once the work was complete they did an excellent job of cleaning up the property. Great experience!!!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I lost three big (25+ ft) Mexican Fan Palms to freezing temperatures two winters ago. Two of them were dead and within inches of my roof. The third was dead and located right in the corner of my yard, where my fence meets three other properties' fences. So the risk of removing all three trees without damage was extremely high. I heard about Longhorn Tree Service through word-of-mouth so I gave Tony a call. He responded quickly, gave me a fair and competitive estimate, and arrived on time for the job after I hired him. He and his crew expertly removed all three trees with no damage to my house or my fence. Literally, not a single scratch to any structure. Then, after the job was complete, they cleaned the yard of debris and raked up the loose trimmings. They left my yard and my grass in better condition than when they started. Very happy with this service! I recommend Tony to everyone looking for professional arborist services. He's an expert at his craft. I highly recommend Longhorn Tree Service."

"They are the best, from the first branches to the final clean up. Very safety conscious, they protected my deck and landscaping. They answered questions I had as the job progressed. It was a great team of four hardworking men. They even seemed to have fun working together. I recommend them without any reservation."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Costs reflect the size of the tree or shrub, the complexity of the task, location accessibility, and disposal needs, and comprehensive quotes vary accordingly.

Large, established tree branches won’t grow roots, but if you find a young tree branch that’s less than about a year old, you’ve got a shot. Put it in water or soil as soon as possible for best results. You’ll know the branch is viable if it’s about the thickness of a pencil and has some leaves or needles.

Burning a tree stump can be effective, but it comes with safety considerations and isn’t always best for every situation. It's essential to check local regulations and assess the safety risks involved. Stumps that are near wooden structures or other non-moveable flammable objects aren’t good candidates for burning due to the risk of the fire spreading. Alternatives like grinding or a DIY stump rotting project might be safer and quicker for getting the job done.

Getting a tree pro with the right experience can be the difference between your transplanted tree surviving or not. When hiring a local tree transplanting and removal service, follow up on references, check their portfolio, ask for a breakdown of the costs, and get proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Also, look for companies certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or registered with the Tree Care Industry Association and make sure they have an appropriate state or city license.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.
