"Troy Watts came out and searched for the source of the leak. It did not take him long to determine that it was coming from the toilet in the adjoining bathroom. A price was quoted and I approved the work. There were multiple issues with the toilet mounting and Troy repaired them all without an increase in the quote. He stayed for awhile after the repair was completely done to make sure the leak was repaired. He cleaned up the bathroom thoroughly. I have used John Moore in the past and would recommend them highly. I Especially recommend the technical expertise and great customer service of Troy Watts. Thanks, Tom Wells."

"This company is so courteous, honest, responsive and the work is perfect. Replaced all pipes in the house with PEX, replaced outside faucets, installed new water heater. Left no mess, and any cutting into the wall was made in a very inconspicuous manner, left covered by small plastic plates. The staff are very helpful and respond very quickly. The estimate given was the exact amount with no upsell or added charges."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

One of the many benefits of a pressure-assist toilet is how long it lasts. You can expect a well-maintained one to last up to 30 years. That's five years longer than a standard gravity-fed toilet, so it can be a worthwhile investment if you’re willing to spend more on your toilet installation.

Yes, pressure-assist toilets leak, but less often than regular toilets. You might experience leaks from your toilet due to worn-out parts, water pressure in your plumbing that’s too high or low, poor installation, or cracks in your tank. These toilets are harder to fix on your own than gravity-fed ones, so it’s best to call a plumber if you can’t figure out what’s wrong,

A broken flange could lead to serious issues. When a flange breaks, the toilet is no longer secured to the subfloor, which leads to constant rocking when in use. Over time, this breaks the wax seal between the toilet and flange and causes leaking throughout the substrate, bathroom floor, and ceilings below the bathroom.

You definitely can over-tighten toilet tank bolts. Unlike some other materials, porcelain can’t bend or flex, so when you over-tighten a screw into it, it could break against the added pressure. Only tighten them as much as needed to keep them in place and firm; any more and you could risk breaking the porcelain.

Replacing a toilet costs between $275 and $480 in most cases, and the average cost sits around $375. This includes removing the old toilet and installing the new toilet. Your price could be significantly higher if you invest in a high-quality brand, need the replacement done on an emergency basis, or replace your toilet as a part of a larger bathroom remodel that demands additional work.
