"Best rates and customer service for the property I run. Quotes and bids are provided in an efficient manner and costs are highly competitive if not beating the current market. They have also handled electrical emergencies for our property with priority and ensured our building has what it needs since we also provide housing for patients. I highly recommend especially during budget season to ensure your property's safety and curb appeal stay above the market. We look forward to our partnership for next year's capital projects."

"We had lightning rods installed at our home after having 2 previous lightning strikes. The first strike was minor, with only slight damage in the yard. The second was significant when a very large pine tree was hit close to our house causing various electrical issues in the home -- despite having a whole home surge protection system. Just months after having the lightning rods installed, lightning struck an even larger pine tree in our small back yard, Thankfully, the lightning rods saved us! It was a huge strike, and we had no damage at all in the house. These lightning rods were potentially life-saving."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You may not always need to hire a local electrician to install a doorbell camera. Wireless doorbell cameras, for instance, are simple enough for the average homeowner to install. They easily attach to your threshold and run on batteries, so no wiring is necessary.

However, wired doorbells with cameras likely require electrical work that should only be attempted by licensed electricians. You’ll need to call a pro if you’re working with a wired doorbell camera.

The number of outlets and lights you can safely run on a single circuit depends on the circuit's amperage and local electrical codes. A general rule is to allow one outlet or light fixture per 1.5 amps, keeping the total load under 80% of the circuit breaker's capacity. For example, a 15-amp circuit can typically support up to eight outlets or lights, while a 20-amp circuit can accommodate up to ten. Always consider the combined power usage of all connected devices and fixtures to prevent overloading. For specific guidelines and to ensure safety, it is best to consult local electrical codes or a licensed electrician.

Watts and volts represent distinct aspects of a light bulb’s functionality. Volts measure the electrical force that drives the current through the bulb, determining its compatibility with the power source. Watts, on the other hand, quantify the bulb’s power consumption and indicate its brightness level. Higher watts generally mean a brighter bulb.

There are several tools available to help prevent electrical fires. First, ensure that you have GFCI outlets installed in necessary areas, along with an AFCI, which is a circuit breaker that can help prevent arc-faults. Investing in surge protectors is also wise, as they can safeguard your appliances and other items against power surges that may overload your outlet and cause sparking.

Technically, an outdoor outlet can be on the same circuit as an indoor outlet, but it's generally not recommended. Outdoor outlets should ideally be on a dedicated circuit that doesn't share power with other indoor or outdoor outlets. This helps ensure that the outdoor outlets are able to handle the additional electrical load without overloading the circuit. Additionally, outdoor outlets are often exposed to the elements, which can increase the risk of electrical shock and other hazards. If you must have an outdoor outlet on the same circuit as an indoor outlet, be sure that the circuit has the capacity to handle the additional load.
