"Eve's Formica service did a complete install of countertops in my kitchen. They were professional and ethical in every respect and far exceeded my expectations, making every effort to see that I was satisfied with the job. My countertops are absolutely beautiful. They also repainted my cabinet doors, providing a look of complete update in my kitchen. I am so pleased I chose this installer and would recommend them to anybody. Photos under separate cover."

"Re-Bath of Austin is one of the best company we have ever worked with.  They always do what they say.  We had them redo our shower in 2008.  They were very professional, on time, and very clean in their work area.  We recommend them highly and we will use them again to redo our second bath in the future.  I can not say enough good things about Re-Bath of Austin.

"I need to start my review by saying that I'm an overly-critical, and difficult person to deal with when it comes to work being done on my personal property (home, car, etc). Jarrett wasn't in for an easy ride dealing with me, and I'm thankful that he doesn't have to provide reviews on his customers.
With that being said, our kitchen is fantastic. After a faulty dishwasher install by another company ruined a large section of our kitchen, I was not looking forward to having to pay for an unexpected kitchen renovation. I called several contractors, but no one was able to come close to Jarrett's pricing or availability. He was actually willing to perform services that no one else wanted to tackle.
Since we weren't planning on our renovations, we didn't have the funds to replace all of our undamaged cabentry (which was your average, builders-grade, white generic cabinets). Jarrett was able to salvage our existing cabinets, add new ones where necessary, and make it all look seamless. No other contractor was willing to paint our existing cabinets since they weren't real wood. Jarrett's painter was fantastic, and you'd never know that our kitchen is a mix of old and new. We upgraded our countertops to granite, which looks great, and really brought the whole kitchen together.
In terms of pricing for the project, Jarrett was the best from day one. Even when our insurance payment came in at less than we expected for the repairs, he was able to work within our budget to make sure we were happy. There were certain parts of the renovation that my husband and I did ourselves (tile, and some trim work), and Jarrett did not try to "push" these items on us, or discourage us from keeping them as DIY.
There were some bumps along the way in terms of scheduling, and project completion-time, but that is to be expected with renovations. All in all, we are absolutely thrilled with how our kitchen turned out. I wish we had been able to have Jarrett gut the whole kitchen and rebuild it from scratch, but he far exceeded expectations given the limitations of the situation. I would absolutely hire him again.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Resurfacing countertops is relatively easy—especially for a pro. During this process, a countertop contractor will sand down or remove the existing countertop surface, make repairs, and then add a new surface or special coating. In certain instances, like if you use a laminate countertop coating system, it’s an attainable DIY for beginners.

The least porous countertop material is engineered quartz. Made from a blend of natural quartz and resins, it is non-porous and highly resistant to stains, scratches, and bacteria. This makes quartz countertops exceptionally low-maintenance and durable, ideal for kitchens and bathrooms where hygiene and easy upkeep are priorities. Other non-porous options include solid surface materials like Corian, which also offer excellent resistance to moisture and stains.

Rubbing alcohol won’t damage most countertops, and you can mix it with water to create a disinfecting spray to keep your kitchen clean. It’s safer than using bleach on countertops, which can stain and cause discoloration. Be careful with rubbing alcohol when it comes to lacquered or varnished surfaces, though.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Laminate countertops can last between 10 and 30 years, though a more common estimate is 10 to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends heavily on usage and how well they are maintained. Because they are a budget-friendly option, they are more prone to scorching and scratches than other materials. You can extend their lifespan with daily maintenance using a soft cleaner and regular sealing.
