"Last year we hired Pedro’s Handyman to do some tile work and a bathroom remodel. They botched the job and after trying to resolve the issues with them via Better Business Bureau, we took them to court and was awarded a judgement of ~$7000 plus interest, but they refuse to pay. As you move forward with home improvement jobs, simple or complex, make sure your contractor has ample insurance; takes responsibility for their work; respects the court decision when judgement is awarded for poor workmanship and has never been sued before."
