Harris Home Services offers affordable home repair and maintenance for all issues in and around your home that does not require a licensed tradesman and/or contractor. My rates are only $30.00 per hour on site labor and $15.00 drive time per hour, and 35 cents per mile. This averages much less than the high fees others may charge. I can exactly quote my mileage and drive time however, Labor is as much as I can do in the time you allow, and I can do quite a bit in a short time depending on what issues we run into.

"They lied to me from the start they promised you this and that and will be done in three weeks it took 7 weeks and things weren't done I came to my house while they were working on it I see one worker laying down on my sectional couch dirty boots on the arm of the couch smoking a cigarette, beer cans on my counter top , they didn't hang two lights that was supposed be hung , so my son installed them , they didn't replace a door the fireman kicked in , my son replaced that , I paid for the door and lights out of my pocket and never got compensated , my sons memorial necklace was taken and other stuff in my house was missing , alcohol was missing , leaf blower ,my arrow head collection, packages in my closet was missing , this company is not to be trusted"

A burnt rubber smell coming from your clothes after they’ve been in the dryer can be the result of too much lint in the lint trap. This prevents air from circulating properly, and the lint may even come into contact with the heating element. It could also be the result of bigger issues like a faulty thermostat or worn-out dryer belt. A burnt rubber smell can even come from elastic waistbands or rubber decals in your clothes. The length of an allowable dryer vent varies based on the local building codes and regulations. Typically, the maximum range is 25 to 35 feet. However, if the vent must have any 90-degree turns, you may see a reduction of five feet from the maximum. Some municipalities may have no specific maximum allowable length as part of the code. Typically, installers will run the vent over the shortest possible distance for safety. The dryer vent cleaning cost is less with a shorter vent length as well. 

Signs include longer drying cycles, a burning smell, excess lint behind the dryer, and the vent hood not opening properly.

At a minimum, you should clean your dryer vent at least once a year. You may need to clean the dryer vent more often, such as every six months, if your dryer sees frequent or daily use. If you have young children or pets, you may need to clean the vent quarterly. 

There are a few signs that tell you it's time to clean your vent. If your clothes are very hot when they come out of the dryer or it's taking longer than usual for clothes to dry, the vents need cleaning.

You have two different types of air vents in your home: supply and return air vents. Your supply air vents are responsible for pushing air into your home. Meanwhile, return air vents draw warmer air back into the ductwork to condition it by removing the warm molecules from it. Both types of vents are necessary to a working HVAC system and a comfortable home.
