"I can't say enough good things about this company. I had the task of choosing a moving service for my 81 year old mom as she moved from her home to an apartment. Frankie was great about communicating before our moving day as to what we needed done. They showed up and immediately got work and listened to my requests about how to handle special items. Everything was loaded quickly, but safely. Everything arrived at my mom's apartment and they allowed us to sort what needed to be taken inside. The rest was placed in her garage. They were very respectful of my mother, and she was thrilled with their service! I was so happy with how smooth "moving day" went. Thanks to Frankie, Robert, and Leo !!!!"

"We had a great experience with direct pro logistics. They provided a quote instantly over the phone, we initially scheduled the move four business days before the move, and they confirmed within 48 hours. The movers were prompt and gave us an 30 minute heads up in advance of their arrival. All of our items and furniture were handled with care. The team of three movers were professional, quick, and efficient. We moved a full 2 bedroom apartment in about 6 hours. We would absolutely use their services again in the future."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Most professional movers can provide a wide range of moving-related services, and you’ll need to pick and choose which ones you want to use. Examples of common services offered include the following:

  • Organizing and packing your belongings

  • Protecting delicate items with bubble wrap or other protective equipment

  • Moving your belongings and furniture out of your old home

  • Moving your belongings into your new home within a certain distance

  • Unpacking your belongings in the new location

  • Moving heavy items, like pianos

  • Moving your vehicles

  • Storage if your new home isn’t ready

The average cost to hire professionals to move a gun safe ranges between $200 to $525. The cost varies significantly depending on the safe’s size, weight, and location. However, the total bill can increase if it is a large safe and a complex move. Consult a local moving company that specializes in safe moving to determine the estimated cost of this service.

Old pianos can be hard to sell for a few reasons. Pianos fifty years or older may only sell for several hundred dollars and will often cost more to transport to the new owners. Restoring a piano also costs well into the thousands, making it pretty hard to make your money back. In most cases, donating or recycling the parts of a piano is more cost-efficient and beneficial in the long run.

To treat office moving costs as capital expenses, which means recording them as assets, they must meet certain rules: they need to be essential for the business to keep running, directly related to the move, reasonable, and documented properly with invoices and contracts. These costs can include packing, transportation, and setting up the new office. Once these expenses are capitalized, they're treated like assets on the books and gradually accounted for over time through depreciation or amortization.

Yes, moving a piano often causes it to become out of tune, even if you're not moving the piano very far. One reason is that any temperature and humidity changes can affect a piano's tuning. Additionally, the bumps and jolts from a moving truck usually push a piano out of tune.

However, don't jump right to tuning it once the piano gets to your new home. Instead, it's best to wait at least two weeks for the instrument to acclimate to its new environment. After a couple weeks, you'll get an idea of what the piano will really sound like in its new home, at which point you can call a piano technician to get it properly tuned.
