"I can't say enough good things about this company. I had the task of choosing a moving service for my 81 year old mom as she moved from her home to an apartment. Frankie was great about communicating before our moving day as to what we needed done. They showed up and immediately got work and listened to my requests about how to handle special items. Everything was loaded quickly, but safely. Everything arrived at my mom's apartment and they allowed us to sort what needed to be taken inside. The rest was placed in her garage. They were very respectful of my mother, and she was thrilled with their service! I was so happy with how smooth "moving day" went. Thanks to Frankie, Robert, and Leo !!!!"

"We had a great experience with direct pro logistics. They provided a quote instantly over the phone, we initially scheduled the move four business days before the move, and they confirmed within 48 hours. The movers were prompt and gave us an 30 minute heads up in advance of their arrival. All of our items and furniture were handled with care. The team of three movers were professional, quick, and efficient. We moved a full 2 bedroom apartment in about 6 hours. We would absolutely use their services again in the future."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

It is certainly possible to move a piano without hiring movers, but it’s not recommended. Not only will you need at least four people to lift and maneuver the piano, but getting it around tight corners and down flights of stairs might not be possible without the help of movers. Plus, pianos are exceptionally heavy and bulky, which means you and any helping hands are at risk of injury, as well as an increased risk of damaging your piano. Ultimately, it’s always worth it to call in a professional piano mover.

Moving a washer and dryer can be difficult due to the appliances’ weight and size. If you need to move these appliances up or down stairs, then it will be more challenging. It also depends on the type of dryer you have, as a gas dryer is more complicated to disconnect than an electric dryer. The difficulty of the task also depends on whether you’re easily wheeling the washer and dryer up a moving truck’s loading ramp or lifting them yourself.

Deciding whether it's worth it to hire movers depends on your budget, patience, and physical capabilities. It's difficult to gauge the amount of work that moving calls for, and it's easy to be off by about tenfold.

If you're able to call in some favors and round up friends to help, you might get through it just fine, but if you only have a few hands helping, things can quickly get overwhelming. Either way, bringing in the pros will save considerable time and stress, so if it's within your budget, it's a great investment.

Moving a one-bedroom apartment yourself can range from $150 to more than $1,500, depending on distance, the amount of belongings you have, and more. On the other hand, the cost of hiring movers for a one-bedroom apartment is around $1,850 on average. You’ll save money with the DIY route, but the process is much more labor-intensive and time-consuming.

No, homeowners insurance does not typically cover moving expenses. Homeowners insurance provides coverage and pay-outs if you experience damage to the home you currently live in. You’ll need to save separately for moving expenses like hiring movers, renting a tow truck, or shipping your belongings.
