"I can't say enough good things about this company. I had the task of choosing a moving service for my 81 year old mom as she moved from her home to an apartment. Frankie was great about communicating before our moving day as to what we needed done. They showed up and immediately got work and listened to my requests about how to handle special items. Everything was loaded quickly, but safely. Everything arrived at my mom's apartment and they allowed us to sort what needed to be taken inside. The rest was placed in her garage. They were very respectful of my mother, and she was thrilled with their service! I was so happy with how smooth "moving day" went. Thanks to Frankie, Robert, and Leo !!!!"

"We had a great experience with direct pro logistics. They provided a quote instantly over the phone, we initially scheduled the move four business days before the move, and they confirmed within 48 hours. The movers were prompt and gave us an 30 minute heads up in advance of their arrival. All of our items and furniture were handled with care. The team of three movers were professional, quick, and efficient. We moved a full 2 bedroom apartment in about 6 hours. We would absolutely use their services again in the future."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Pool tables are exceptionally heavy, some weighing as much as 2,500 pounds. As a result, they require multiple movers to move, and because of their size, it's difficult to get them upstairs or around tight corners. You can save money on pool table moving by using your own packing supplies and disassembling them before movers arrive.

Gym equipment can be heavy, so it’s best to transport it using a furniture dolly. When dealing with treadmills, weight machines, or other bulky items, hiring professional movers or roping in some friends and renting a moving van makes sense.

To treat office moving costs as capital expenses, which means recording them as assets, they must meet certain rules: they need to be essential for the business to keep running, directly related to the move, reasonable, and documented properly with invoices and contracts. These costs can include packing, transportation, and setting up the new office. Once these expenses are capitalized, they're treated like assets on the books and gradually accounted for over time through depreciation or amortization.

Before hiring a moving company to help you with your move, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Is there anything your company won’t move?

  • Does workers’ compensation cover the crew?

  • Will you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?

  • Are there packing restrictions?

  • Can you guarantee my delivery date?

  • Can you provide references?

  • What do you charge extra for?

  • What is your cancellation policy?

It can be tempting to want to help your movers as they pack or transport your belongings, but in general, most movers prefer their customers to stay out of the way. Rest assured that your movers are confident in their skills and the process will likely go faster without your help. If you see something concerning, let your movers know right away so they can adjust or remedy the issue.
