"I can't say enough good things about this company. I had the task of choosing a moving service for my 81 year old mom as she moved from her home to an apartment. Frankie was great about communicating before our moving day as to what we needed done. They showed up and immediately got work and listened to my requests about how to handle special items. Everything was loaded quickly, but safely. Everything arrived at my mom's apartment and they allowed us to sort what needed to be taken inside. The rest was placed in her garage. They were very respectful of my mother, and she was thrilled with their service! I was so happy with how smooth "moving day" went. Thanks to Frankie, Robert, and Leo !!!!"

"We had a great experience with direct pro logistics. They provided a quote instantly over the phone, we initially scheduled the move four business days before the move, and they confirmed within 48 hours. The movers were prompt and gave us an 30 minute heads up in advance of their arrival. All of our items and furniture were handled with care. The team of three movers were professional, quick, and efficient. We moved a full 2 bedroom apartment in about 6 hours. We would absolutely use their services again in the future."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

You should consider hiring professional movers for moves that seem too daunting, dangerous, or involve large, heavy objects. The larger your home and the longer the distance, the more likely you are to need professional help. A moving service can take the hardest tasks off your plate and reduce the risk of personal injury. However, if you are only moving a few light items, you can save money by moving on your own and renting a truck. Keep in mind that a DIY move requires significant planning and time. A hybrid option is also available, where you hire movers just to lift and transport heavy items to your vehicle.

Depending on the type of expense, it is possible to deduct moving costs on your taxes. For example, you can deduct for packing, crating, insurance, in-transit storage, and using a trailer. However, you cannot deduct expenses such as moving furniture, security deposits, and home buying and selling expenses.

Old pianos can be hard to sell for a few reasons. Pianos fifty years or older may only sell for several hundred dollars and will often cost more to transport to the new owners. Restoring a piano also costs well into the thousands, making it pretty hard to make your money back. In most cases, donating or recycling the parts of a piano is more cost-efficient and beneficial in the long run.

Plastic bins are excellent alternatives to moving boxes. They’re more durable than the traditional cardboard. Have any unused suitcases? Those can make for great storage solutions for your long-term needs. Avoid plastic bags or anything that doesn’t allow for breathability.

It can be tempting to want to help your movers as they pack or transport your belongings, but in general, most movers prefer their customers to stay out of the way. Rest assured that your movers are confident in their skills and the process will likely go faster without your help. If you see something concerning, let your movers know right away so they can adjust or remedy the issue.
