"He responded to get our back door frame fixed so it could stay closed in the wind the same day. The next day he patched our wood floor and exterior wood siding. Fast, good, pleasant, and reasonable!"

"My wife and I are senior citizens. I am also a disabled Vietnam veteran. I have been a maintenance man for over 50 years. When we decided that our roof needed to be replaced, I realized because I am disabled that for the first time in my life that I was going to have to rely on somebody else to do the job. Needless to say that thought scared us deeply. We have heard the horror stories where senior were devastated by crooks and scam artist took their money and did not perform the work agreed upon or worse. When I was in the US Air Force I did analysis work, investigating and troubleshooting problems and identifying complacent and poor performing personnel and defective substandard equipment and products. I used this experience to investigate over 25 roofing companies in the DFW area. I created a 5 page questionnaire in order to separate out the excellent, good, mediocre, poor, and down right criminal. I chose 7 of the companies that I considered to be excellent and called to set up a schedule to inspect our roof and give us a written quote. While they were here I asked to answer my 5 page questionnaire. Two of those companies did not respond at all. Of the five that did respond 1 left almost immediately when asked question about honesty and integrity, 1 company gave a written quote but never answered my questions. 1 company was overcharging and was very unscrupulous. There was one company that towered above the rest, completed the questionnaire beyond my expectation and left no doubt in my mind that they were going to take care us. That company is Swan Roofing in Plano. They have an actual office! They are honest to a fault, they have integrity, they are very responsive and prompt, they are very professional and most of all their whole team really CARES!!! Kelly the salesman was a roofer with years of experience and not only got me a good deal, but was on site every day and went upon the roof to ensure top quality lnstalation and materials. He took great care to answer all my question during the installation as well. He is a decent honest Christian man. I trust him completely and you can too. Raul was in charge of the installation. He is a real hard working no nonsense professional. He was early to start and stayed late on the job. He was very detail oriented and gave me the best roof that could be had by anyone. Again, very trustworthy, accurate, and through. There is no finer crew in Texas. Lisa coordinated and scheduled my roofing installation. She retuned my phone calls promptly and answered all my questions. I had NO anxiety or worry during the installation process because of her responsiveness and the actions and concerns of the whole team, including many caring people in the background that I didn’t get to meet. All that I love about this company I am sure is do in no small part to the man that met me at his office, Mr. Swan the owner of the company. His character, honesty, integrity and professionalism is prevalent throughout the whole company. The whole roofing job was completed in three days, sooner than expected, to my greatest expectations. I conclude this to say, look no further, if you need roofing work done, if you are afraid of being taken advantage of, if you don’t know who to trust, and you don’t know how to find the most reputable company. I am a Vietnam veteran, I have trust issues and I trust and believe in this company and I guarantee you can too. I now have the roof to prove it. It rained heavily the last couple of days and we are dry."

"Sometimes Spouse did an excellent job! The wives I rented showed up on time, even a few minutes early. They provided me with proof of being employees, informed me that they were insured and bonded. The two girls cleaned my home for 4-5 hours. They did a deep clean the first time, and a weekly clean after (& have done this for over a year). They do an amazing job each time, doing a top to bottom clean of my home. I signed up for the Sometimes Home Plan and love their services. I also call them for any of my home maintenance needs. Recently they did gutter cleaning, and interior painting of my home. I am very satisfied every time they come to my home."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

You should refinish your deck to maintain its appearance, durability, and longevity. Refinishing your deck protects the wood from foot traffic and the elements. It also helps extend its life span by keeping rot, mildew, and termites at bay. By maintaining your deck, you can avoid the cost of replacing your deck sooner. A refinished deck also looks great and restores some of its original beauty.

Although composite decking is extremely durable, it’s also susceptible to extreme heat. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading, warping, and cracking. Composite also retains heat more than wood, which makes it dangerous to walk on in the summer. You can help prevent heat damage by only building with composite in shaded areas or using rugs to cover the hottest spots.

The best paver for your pool deck depends on your budget, style, and how much maintenance you’re willing to invest. Granite is one of the best low-cost pavers for pool decks. It’s very slip-resistant and durable, too, making it a top pick. Travertine is a high-quality material that resists freeze-thaw cycles, looks stunning, and won’t get hot in the summer. The only downside to travertine is that it costs more than granite.

No. In most cases, it’s not colder or freezing temperatures that affect decking materials but the amount of moisture that seeps into the materials as a result. For example, wood decking material is more likely to suffer from rot or decay when exposed to excess moisture from snow or ice. An extreme change in temperature can cause wood to expand or contract, but only if it’s not properly treated beforehand.
