Locally owned & operated. Winner of Lubbock Avalanche-Journal "Best Pest Control" for Seventeen years in a Row!

"The guy came and told me he would do a very good job. He sprayed inside and said he would spray outside and put down granules in the yard which he did not do. I called the office to ask, I was told I couldn’t see the granules as they were powdery and that it took two weeks to kill ants! I have never heard that! I was told Rafe would call me back which he didn’t until on Friday asked to talk to his boss! When he did call he said they did not have the product he needed. I asked him why he didn’t just tell me or have Kameron tell me. He said he didn’t know. He never apologized just kept saying his order had not come in. He said he hoped it came soon. I wonder about other customers who don’t know that think their yards were treated. He said he would have the girls let me know when they might come back but I didn’t need to be here. I told him I would definitely need to be told before hand so that I would be here. This is the third incident I have had with them. It is so sad that they would not tell their customers up front. Also they are evidently asking their employees to lie to the customer!"

At Tomcat's Tree Trimming and Landscape we strive to continue to provide one on one customer service, quality work and fair prices. We have been serving Lubbock county for 10 years. We have residential and commercial customers as well. We offer free estimates, just call Tomcat's 806-438-1106.

"The two guys were there 15 minutes did not even get up in the tree to do the service. They made 6 cuts did not treat the bark. They did pick up the limbs and left. We called the owner he came out and justified all but for 475.00 we expected alot better service. They never got up in the trees and trimmed all the stragglers, they left a whole limb in front of the house. It was the worst service ever and they took off 50.00. Would not recommend. We have since had someone come and they spent 5 hours cleaning up the tree and doing what was needed to be done. If you want to keep your trees do not use this company."

"Absolutely the worst choice I made in pest control. !!!!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Got all of the bells and whistles that their "apprentice" Braden offered, adding on while he was at my residence. Most of these, as I was lied to about in the end, were supposed to last at least a year's time. When I noticed insects that were supposed to be under this coverage, I was also coming up on a regular spraying so, I called. I spoke with a lady, began to explain what was told to me, and she responded with this, "We don't guarantee anything because of weather." Sooooooo why would you have employees out here representing your company with falsifying information?? It was not as though this was a typical $60.00 service, I paid an additional $100.00 + under false pretense, and have never felt so ripped off. The only resolution she offered me was to pay the entirety of the services again, because of this I filed a complaint with my financial institution. Not surprisingly, Rusty's responded to the bank with lies yet again. They claimed that I was offered a remedy (that was not mentioned on the phone), and that all of the terms were explained to me when I got my services. LIESSS!!!! If that was the truth, I never would have gotten my financial institution involved in the process. I was never trying to take advantage of the company, but just receive the services that I was actually promised. I am also in the process of getting the BBB involved as well. Don't fall victim like me. Don't waste your time. Find a more reputable, customer appreciated, and HONEST company!"

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

Sugar water helps the microorganisms in the soil break down nutrients, thus helping certain plants grow. In other words, it is okay to water plants with sugar water, but exercise caution and never rely on sugar when fertilizing your grass. Sugar is not plant food and, if applied too liberally, kills the plants you intend to help.

Grass will grow back after being sprayed with vinegar. If you’re looking for an alternative to chemical herbicides, vinegar can help you manage weeds. Use a mixture of 1 gallon of white vinegar, 1 cup of salt, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap to spray on your grass. This will kill the grass at the surface while keeping the roots intact, so it’ll eventually grow back. You’ll need to use an herbicide or manually remove the whole root system to get rid of grass for good.

Very carefully. You should be cautious when using any of the above methods, as any one of them could lead to you accidentally killing desired grasses and plants. However, there are selective herbicides that can target certain plants over others. Look for a product that only affects the type of weeds you want to eliminate and spares the plants you want to keep.

Most businesses schedule services weekly or biweekly to maintain a professional appearance and healthy lawn.

Too much clover in your lawn can indicate several issues with your soil. Clover can thrive in soils with abnormally high pH, low-cut grass, and low nitrogen. Amending these issues can push clover out for good.

Hardy perennial clover loves the low nitrogen and compact conditions that often come with poor, infertile soils. But other factors also contribute to a clover explosion, including drought conditions, cool temperatures, under fertilization, and over-irrigation. You’ll need to evaluate all these elements when planning to kill off the clover.
