There are likely dozens of HVAC repair companies that service your area, and choosing the right one can be a tricky process. To hire the right HVAC technician, we recommend reaching out to local companies and ask the following questions:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you have any third-party certifications?

  • Do you often work on my specific type of HVAC system?

  • Do you provide any warranty for your work?

  • Do you offer maintenance contracts for ongoing savings?

  • How many years of experience do you have?

You should service your AC at least once per year, in the spring, and twice per year if your unit is 10 years or older. As your unit ages, more maintenance can catch problems early and help the system reach its full lifespan potential, usually 15 years.
