"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"We had several leaks in our steel roof. The leaks were confined to the south side of the house, and we weren't sure how many leaks there were or where they were. Pisgah Roofing & Restoration came by, assessed the situation, and scheduled a team of roofers to come by and fix the leaks. It's been a while since they came by to fix the roof, and we haven't had one leak since then! We are confident now that Pisgah Roofing & Restoration completely fixed our roof."

Customers say: Quick response

"I recently had my roof replaced and paid the contractor in full after completion of the job as it looked O.K. from the ground. I am disabled and could not get up there to inspect the workmanship myself. Later I noticed some defects and so I hired Ken to do a roof inspection. He came out promptly and did a thorough inspection. By the next day I received a detailed written report and about 76 pictures of the poor workmanship on the new roof by the contractor. Ken said it was probably the worst job he had ever seen and recommended that the new roof be replaced. So we sent the report and pictures that I received from Ken to the roofer. We met the roofer shortly thereafter and the contractor agreed to give us a full refund rather than fight us in court because the report and pictures were indisputable and demonstrated without question the poor workmanship by the contractor. Ken exceeded my expectations. Lesson learned: Hire Ken before you make final payment to a contractor."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Metal roofs have a reputation for being noisy, but with proper installation and adequate insulation, they are not significantly noisier than shingle roofs. The type of metal used can affect the sound level; for instance, steel roofs are typically noisier than slate or asphalt tiles but quieter than aluminum. While some people find the sound of rain on a metal roof pleasant, you can take steps to reduce the noise. Installing a thicker underlayment, adding insulation between the roof and the house, or using acoustic tiles can effectively muffle the sound. The gauge (thickness) of the metal roofing can also contribute to sound dampening.

White is the most energy-efficient color for roofs because solar energy reflects off white surfaces the best. Silver is also a good choice.

Skipping the installation of a drip edge or gutter apron can lead to significant water damage. Without this component, water is more likely to seep under roofing materials or leak behind gutters, damaging the fascia, soffits, siding, and even the interior of your home, such as the attic. Over time, this moisture can cause rot, mold, and deterioration. In colder climates, a missing drip edge also increases the risk of ice dams, which can lead to expensive repairs. A drip edge is an essential part of a roof's drainage system, and some local building codes may even require its installation to protect the home from water damage.

Underlayment exists under your tile roof. It helps protect your home by acting as a secondary water barrier. Often, when roof tiles fall off, underlayment that's in good condition can temporarily keep water from getting into the home. However, immediate replacement of missing tiles is crucial to avoid additional roof damage.

During the framing process, builders connect the roof to the walls with materials, including metal connectors, plywood panels, and wood blocks. These roof-to-wall connections are important and provide weatherproofing, noise and temperature insulation, protection against pests, and home integrity. The type of connector and method used will vary, depending on your home’s construction and needs, and each has pros and cons in terms of cost, noise insulation, longevity, and reliability. Talk with your home or roofing contractor about the best connectors for your roof and walls, and what they recommend for your home.
