We had other roofers who looked at the roof and recommended everything from simply reattaching loose shingles to a complete roof replacement. J & D replaced all ridge vents and caps and hip caps, as well as individual damaged shingles and verified condition of chimney flashing and vent boots. Therefore we were able to extend the life of the roof for a very reasonable price. We have a steep and complicated roof, yet the crew seemed comfortable in working in those conditions. They protected plantings and other structures in the demolition phase and carefully searched for any stray nails that might become a problem in the surrounding areas. "I recently had my roof replaced and paid the contractor in full after completion of the job as it looked O.K. from the ground. I am disabled and could not get up there to inspect the workmanship myself. Later I noticed some defects and so I hired Ken to do a roof inspection. He came out promptly and did a thorough inspection. By the next day I received a detailed written report and about 76 pictures of the poor workmanship on the new roof by the contractor. Ken said it was probably the worst job he had ever seen and recommended that the new roof be replaced. So we sent the report and pictures that I received from Ken to the roofer. We met the roofer shortly thereafter and the contractor agreed to give us a full refund rather than fight us in court because the report and pictures were indisputable and demonstrated without question the poor workmanship by the contractor. Ken exceeded my expectations. Lesson learned: Hire Ken before you make final payment to a contractor."
