"He is absolutely one of the most honest contractors I've worked with, and has a lot of integrity. He's personable, responsive, and does great work. I can not say enough nice things about him. He's in the top 5 contractors I've had the pleasure to do business with over the last 20 years that I have been in the manufacturing business, maybe my lifetime!"

"I have been a license bonded contractor for the last 35 years. We built some of your better custom homes and I have used several different insulation companies to include spray foam during this time. This company gave me more, better coverage, to include all cracks and seams, and did a through clean-up afterwards, what more could anyone ask for, they are good. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends, not just the quality but the estimate was several hundred dollars cheaper than the other 2 estimates that I had gotten for the same square footage of coverage. Save time and money and call them, by the way, I never heard of this company until I called Home Advisor. Jim"

"All of the folks associated with this business were most informative and accommodating to questions I had before, during and after the installation. The installers are most professional; having highly experienced foam applicators and crews that are prompt to arrive and begin work. The installers ensure the customer is happy with the completed work before leaving your home/business, etc.. Finally, when the work is complete, the project site is cleaned, with all trash and debris collected and discarded by RBC. I had several bids by other company's but RBC topped them all! I highly recommend this company for your spray foam needs."

"Aaron is great to work with. I hired him originally to blow insulation in my attic then he brought to my attention that the house I just bought has a mouse problem. Lucky for me Aaron is in the process of fixing that issue for me as well. He s been great to deal with and is a very professional and kind person."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Also known as sound-dampening blankets, acoustic blankets reduce echo in a room. They come in different thicknesses and materials, and they can be nailed or glued to walls.

R-30 insulation is better for higher thermal resistance, but whether it’s "better" depends on the application. R-30 is much thicker and suited for areas like attics or floors in cold climates, where more insulation is required. R-13, on the other hand, is thinner and works well for 2x4 walls or milder climates where less insulation is sufficient. Choosing between R-13 and R-30 depends on the area being insulated and the climate. For example, R-30 provides more insulation but may not fit everywhere in your home.

Insulating under a concrete slab foundation is a great way to improve the energy efficiency of your home, but it isn't necessary for outdoor projects like driveways, patios, sidewalks, and walkways. If you’re pouring in cold weather, insulating under the slab can help prevent heat loss from the concrete, aiding in proper curing. Along with accelerants, this can be a good way to ensure strong concrete despite pouring in the cold.

You do not always need to remove old insulation before adding new. If the existing insulation is in good condition—not wet, physically damaged, moldy, or infested with pests—you can add new insulation directly on top of it for a compounding effect. You can also mix different types, such as adding blown-in insulation around existing fiberglass batts.

However, removal is recommended if the old insulation is compromised by water damage or pests. You should also remove it if you plan to install a different type of insulation, like switching from roll or batt insulation to spray foam. If the existing insulation is very old or damaged, you will likely get more benefit from removing it and starting fresh.

The average U.S. homeowner pays $1,850 to insulate their home. However, the cost of insulation depends on the type, the size of your home, and who does the installation work.

The cost of foam board insulation depends on whether it's made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) or extruded polystyrene (XPS). EPS has the lower price point, usually costing between $0.25 and $0.50 per board foot, while XPS costs between $0.40 and $0.50 per board foot.
