For the past 75 years, the experts at Roscoe Brown have done more than give individuals and businesses the finest in home comfort. We’ve given them peace of mind. We opened for business in 1940 when Roscoe Brown transferred his talent, discipline, and expertise in tin work to the heating field, eventually flourishing to include air conditioning.

"Dillon Seiffert was on time, very polite and extremely professional."

Protecting homes and businesses since 1950, Guardian Protection is one of the nation's largest and most highly regarded security companies. We provide smart technology, 24/7 professional monitoring, and peace of mind to hundreds of thousands of customers. Our products are installed by experts, monitored by real people, and truly make a difference. We do what we do because of one simple truth: life is better when it's safe.

"We hired Guardian to install our security system at our Washington, DC, business. The service and quality of the work was horrible. We had cameras and an alarm system installed; it was a relatively large system. They outsource most of the work to various vendors. They could not manage their vendors; what was supposed to take a week took two months. The sales rep did not return calls, and you could never get anyone in management on the phone. Random people would show up at unannounced times. The few things that an actual Guardian employee did were they made a huge mess of our newly remodeled office and were rude to our staff. We have offices in five markets across the US and have high security at each; we have never had such a poor experience."

**January Promotion This month we are offering a FREE Cruise Voucher for a complete basement install, crawlspace or our energy saver products. Please call our office today to schedule your free in home estimate. 615-360-7000 Alan Chandler started working on his first basement in 1968 while still in school. At that time the method for basement moisture problems was to simply coat the outside walls with black tar and place a plastic material on the exterior wall. At the base of the wall, on top of the footer, were 3 foot clay tiles, with pitched gravel on top and between the footer area. It was finally backfilled with dirt. Since then, Alan of All-Dry has been constantly educated and kept abreast of the latest technologies. This has allowed him to create a patented water-control system that is safe and effective for your home. Nick Chandler, Director of Operations, has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Nick is highly trained and is a certified waterproofing and structural repair contractor. A pioneering dealer for next-generation windows and eco-friendly building products, Apex Energy Solutions serves homeowners who value and love the place they call home. At Apex, we don't simply sell home improvements; we educate homeowners so they make the right choices for their homes. And we offer products and services that support those decisions — windows and siding that exceed government standards for energy efficiency and sustainability, matched with expert installation and customer support to ensure that the products you choose perform well. As a homeowner facing rising energy costs and working to reduce your impact on the environment, you expect the utmost from home remodeling professionals. And that's what you get from Apex, where our name reflects our passion: to offer the highest levels of products and services.

"I'm so happy with my new windows from Apex Energy Solutions! From start to finish, they were awesome to work with. Chandler, my consultant, was super knowledgeable and helped me pick the perfect windows for my home without any sales pressure. The installation crew was on time, tidy, and did amazing work. You can tell they really care about getting it right. The lead installed even showed me a super easy way to re-hang my blinds. To be honest, I didn't really expect much change on the way the house looks but I was wrong. The windows themselves are just beautiful - they've totally transformed the look and feel of my house. No more drafts or street noise! I know they'll help cut my energy bills too. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. Apex knocked it out of the park. If you need new windows, definitely give them a shout. You won't regret it!"

"I hired R3 to find a leak in my son’s room that was causing mold and also damaging his ceiling. I also hired them to find a leak in my daughter’s ceiling. They said they found the reason for the leaks and quoted me a price. In this estimate, it stated different tradesmen would be performing the work (painter, HVAC person etc) and I was charged those minimums for those tradesmen. The project manager did most of the work himself. They did have painters come in though. The estimate was itemized and I noticed they were charging me for things that they were not doing (like closing off the room for cleaning mold, applying anti-mold spray, etc). I asked the project manager if he was planning on going over the estimate with me and amending the quote. He looked at me like I was nuts. He seemed very eager to hurry up and finish my job. There were several things that needed to be done, and I got the impression that he wanted to finish it all in a couple of hours. Once I brought up going over the estimate, then he seemed to go slower and make sure he was doing everything, since I was paying attention. He seemed to not understand why I wanted to go over the estimate. I questioned him on several things and he ended up taking off $1,000 because he couldn’t prove he did it. $1,000!! If I wasn’t paying attention, this company would’ve taken my money for work they never performed. There were probably things I missed, but I couldn’t catch everything. When they originally came to fix things, they replaced 2 air vents running from my bathrooms to the outside of my house. A couple of weeks after they completed their work, a leak started in my son’s room. They claimed the vent they just replaced is now causing the leak because the air vent isn’t powerful enough to push the condensation out. They said they would repair it for free, since they did the work. I asked them about repairing the other one, since they just replaced that one and they refused. They said that vent hasn’t caused an issue yet and since they have discovered that it might cause an issue and have brought it to my attention, it would cost for them to replace it. At first, I said no because I just paid for them to install new vents and I felt like they should replace that one as well. Then I decided to go ahead and pay to have that one fixed. I contacted the project manager SEVERAL times to try to get him to fix the vents and my son’s ceiling. He would say he was coming and then never show. He’d never contact me and say he wasn’t coming—he just wouldn’t show. Then he asked to send someone on a Saturday when I had a commitment and I told him no, since a babysitter was at my house. He sent a worker anyway and the worker didn’t even know what he was supposed to be doing. The babysitter sent him away and I had to try to contact the project manager about coming again. He finally had someone come out and they only fixed 1 vent. I asked them about it and I was told that with the winter storm, they had enough business for now, and they were “opting out” of fixing my vent. I was very upset and told them that they had done work that will knowingly cause future problems and they should fix it—I was even paying for it. The estimator was rude and not interested in having someone come out to fix it. I asked for the owner’s contact information several times, so I could discuss the problem with him/her and the estimator refused to give it to me. DON’T use this company. They will try to steal your money, not perform all the work, or stand by all the work they perform."

FAQs for insulation service projects in Culleoka, TN

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.

  • Will you address air leaks in my house?

  • Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?

  • What kind of insulation will work best for my home?

  • How do you handle signs of a water leak?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Can you provide customer references?

The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.

If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.

In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:

  • High heating and cooling bills

  • Uncomfortable room temperatures

  • Ice dams on the edge of your roof

  • Roof leaks

  • Cold floors and walls

  • Freezing pipes

  • Temperature fluctuations

  • Visibly low insulation

  • Noise problems

  • Pest problems

On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:

  • Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot

  • Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Batt: $2–$4 per square foot

  • Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot

  • Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
