"This is the best tree service I have ever used! I needed them to cut up and hall away a large tree that had fallen and take down 12 small trees and grind the stumps. They gave me a good price, showed up exactly when they said they would. and did an excellent job. This is the only tree service I will use from now on."

"Hector has very good verbal skills and is the main tree surgeon. He and his crew did an outstanding job removing an elm tree that was very close to the house. They cleaned up the grounds and the driveway thoroughly. Iâ ve used them in the past, and they always do a great job, I highly recommend Hectorâ s tree service."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.

If you want to take your tree-planting hobby beyond your outdoor space, here are a few great ways to do it:

  • Encourage your neighbors to participate in the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program, which has a four-step framework that helps communities grow and maintain their own tree cover.

  • Support businesses that plant trees.

  • Lobby your local government to plant more trees around your community.

  • Donate to a tree-planting charity.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.
