"I can’t recommend Keter Royal Restorations and Mark enough! He removed the popcorn ceilings throughout my home, and the results are absolutely stunning. The skim coating, sanding, and painting were done meticulously, and the finished ceilings completely transformed my space. Mark was professional, kind, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. Even though popcorn ceiling removal is an incredibly messy job, he cleaned up as much as possible at the end of each day and treated my home with care. The quality of his work speaks for itself. Family and friends have all commented on how beautiful the ceilings look, and I will absolutely be hiring Mark again for future projects. If you’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and delivers exceptional results, I highly recommend Keter Royal Restorations."

Small jobs welcome

"John did an exceptional job of repairing a large hole in our ceiling, repairing cracks, removing all the popcorn finish, treating water stains, giving the entire ceiling a coating and then two layers of paint. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond. Would definitely hire him again."

"Got to the job within a week and showed up on time. I couldn't believe how fast he was able to mud and it looks very smooth. He patched a lot of holes where I had electrical and plumbing run and did ceiling repair. There was still quite a bit of dust and clean up. Which I did anticipate even though he told me he didn't need to sand. :)"

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Priming a popcorn ceiling before painting is a good idea, especially if the ceiling is stained, discolored, or has never been painted. Interior paint primer helps seal the surface, preventing stains from bleeding through and allowing the paint to adhere better. Use a stain-blocking, water-based primer for best results.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

The easiest way to remove texture from walls is the soak-and-scrape method. You’ll need to spray a section of the wall with water and let the water soak in and soften the texture. Then, you need to scrape the texture off using a drywall taping knife. This method works best with unpainted walls since paint prevents water from saturating the textured joint compound.

The cost to repair a ceiling after a water leak can vary, with averages ranging from $419 to $1,359, or $45 to $55 per square foot. Smaller patches may cost around $150. The final price depends on the size of the affected area and the extent of the damage. Remember that you will also need to repair the source of the leak, such as roof damage or a plumbing issue, which can cost an additional $200 to $1,550. Depending on the situation, you might also face costs for repainting or repairing floors. For an accurate estimate, it is best to get a quote from a professional.

How long it takes to repair a ceiling depends on the extent of the damage. Patching a small hole might only take a few minutes, while repairing a water-damaged section of the ceiling could take hours. If there are structural issues, expect your ceiling repair to take several days or longer.
