Whenever possible, these should be tuned up to standard pitch and made playable rather than hauled off to the dumpster and replaced with a new piano. A few sticking keys can take a few minutes to fix, or a few hours. Sometimes it is best to Refurbish, or, more dramatically, but also more satisfying, to Rebuild. As a member of the PTG (Piano Technicians Guild), I will care for your piano conscientiously and skillfully. I am certified as an RPT (Registered Piano Technician) through the Guild, so you can rest assured that you will receive the best service. An RPT has passed a series of rigorous examinations on the maintenance, repair, and tuning of pianos. Only RPTs are authorized by The Piano Technicians Guild to display the logo containing the words “Registered Piano Technician”. I strongly believe that we are now stewards of the earth, and try to be eco-friendly by researching eco-friendly materials and donating 3% of profits to various environmental organizations. However the chief thing I do to conserve the earth is to push the restoration of old pianos rather than buying new ones. Naturally, I also service new pianos.
