Reportedly found a leak in my outside evaporator coil. Said that although my (1 year old) system had a 10 year parts warranty, that the manufacturer would only send a replacement coil so "someone" would have to dismantle the evaporator to replace the coil, and HE wasn't going to do it ! He then offered to "top-up" the Freon, for $900 ! When I said no, he then offered to do it for $500, "but that's today's price". Of course, I declined. I then had to pay his $65 "diagnostic fee" (for 20 minutes work). He asked me to make check out out to him personally, which I did. As is my practice, I endorsed the check "For Deposit Only", to which he objected, as he said he just wanted to go to my bank and cash it over the counter (not pay it into a bank account). I told him I wasn't changing it. I saw a copy of my cashed check today. He had scribbled his signature over my endorsement to obscure it. I wonder why he didn't want to pay it into a bank account ? Never again !

Calvin is everything his reviews claim that he is: polite, informative, on time, honest and reasonably priced. He didn’t try to upsell us with a 5 ton AC coil and TXV like that other company we have been using. Instead he informed us that what he was replacing was a 3 ton unit and replacing the coil with the same capacity would be adequate. That saved us at least $1,000! Will we be calling him for our future HVAC maintenance and repairs? Yes!
