"BEWARE! Entire fence installed 2 years ago for $6000. After Helene damage, they want over $13,000 to fix one side. They admit that they are purposely price gouging because the insurance companies and FEMA are "giving out all kinds of money". My insurance is part of the National Flood Insurance program (only covers dwelling, specifically excludes fences). FEMA is NOT "giving out all kinds of money". These scammers are admittedly taking advantage of flood victims. I've sent my original estimate from 2 years ago and my estimate from yesterday to the TN Attorney General's Office so they can be held accountable."

Split rail fencing is a type of post and rail fencing. Other post and rail fences include corral board and post and dowel. Post and rail fencing is the term used for any type of fence with vertical posts, horizontal rails, and nothing else (specifically excluding pickets). So, technically, a split rail fence is a post and rail fence.

It is almost always necessary to hire a land surveyor near you to ensure your fence sits on the right side of the property line. Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence.
