"Jake and his crew did a fantastic job! I've used Advanced Lawn and Landscape for two jobs so far. They put up a fence in my front yard and re-did the drainage from my downspouts plus wrapping my foundation and installing footer drains. They are very professional and courteous. Every step of the process was explained along the way also. I will definitely be using them for future work."

"Greg and his crew did some landscaping for us as well as put in some gutter pop up drains. He was there on the day he said he was coming and I am very pleased with him and his crew. They do not goof around they do the job and are easy to talk to. I am pleased with the work he did for me. I would not hesitate to use him again in the future and I plan on doing so."

"Virgil and his son did a perfect job building a beautiful gravel and treated lumber foundation for our shed. Drainage is great. They also did some landscaping at the entrance of our driveway with large boulders and river rock. Everything turned out great! Also very easy to work with and he genuinely wants to make you happy with their excellent work. Five stars for sure!"

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Reseeding your lawn can help eliminate thin or patchy portions of grass. If you’re paying a professional to aerate your lawn, it’ll cost you an additional $50 to $80 on average to reseed it  in the same trip. Reseeding a lawn yourself can cost between $500 to $1,000, meaning you’ll probably save time and money hiring a professional service.

One of the best ways to soften your grass and prepare it for planting grass seed is aeration. Aerating your lawn will loosen up compacted soil and facilitate a more even balance of nutrients from root to topsoil. We recommend using core aeration methods for the most effective soil-loosening results.

For optimal results, water newly planted grass seed at least twice a day—once in the morning and again in the late afternoon. The goal is to keep the soil consistently moist for the first two weeks, but be careful not to overwater or flood the seeds. After about two weeks, you can reduce the frequency to once per day. Always monitor weather conditions and adjust your watering schedule accordingly; for instance, you won't need to water as much if it rains.

Depending on the species, most fescue grasses thrive in USDA hardiness zones 3 through 8, though some varieties can thrive as far as zone 10. While it’s a cool-season grass, it has the unique ability to adapt and thrive in many different types of climates. For this reason, you'll mostly find fescue grasses throughout the transitional temperature zones of the country.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.
