"Robbed, flat out. Took me for supplies, came back with partial (old crap) and then never showed, after weeks of excuses. Wife, supposedly, and himself. Look this guy up, he just robs people and seemingly gets away with it. Also seems to do shoddy work. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Willing to rip off older people as well. Is he still in the area? Probably moved on to newer hunting grounds."

Sanding removes the old finish, smooths imperfections, and gives the new coat something to grip. Without it, you will waste your time, money, and effort.

You can identify melamine cabinets by their appearance and some of their distinct qualities. While melamine cabinets can be designed to replicate the appearance of natural wood cabinets, melamine will have a more uniform grain pattern whereas natural wood will have different grain patterns.

Most cabinets need two to three coats of paint, though the exact number depends on several factors. Use one or two coats of primer and one to three coats of paint. Thick, high-quality paint requires fewer coats, as does paint applied over existing paint that's in good condition. However, if painting a lighter color over an existing dark color, you'll need more coats.
