Small jobs welcome

"Jason and his crew did an outstanding job building our new concrete screened in porch. Aside from some unavoidable weather delays, they finished the job quickly. Unlike many contractors, they did not show up and work two hours one day, then two more the following week, etc. Jason stayed in communication with me to let me know timeliness, schedule, etc. As they worked, we kept finding other projects and as we kept moving the goalpost, he happily accommodated us! If you have a project, call these guys!"

"Moh Helping Hands transformed our primary closet. They confirmed measurements, suggested a smart layout, and arrived exactly on time. The team used a laser to keep the rails perfectly level, fastened into studs, and used proper anchors where needed. Shelves were scribed to our not-so-straight walls, drawers glide smoothly, and the rods are rock solid. They even notched around baseboards, caulked seams, and vacuumed before they left. The price matched the quote and they registered the hardware warranty for us. We easily doubled our storage—professional, detail-oriented, and friendly. Highly recommend!"

Treehouse Builders questions, answered by experts

When designing an attached greenhouse, several factors should be considered. These include the orientation and positioning of the greenhouse to maximize sunlight exposure, the structural integrity of the connection to the house, sufficient insulation to regulate temperature, proper ventilation for airflow, and adequate space for plants and pathways. If you’re restricted because of your budget, go with a simpler design to maximize the use of your money.

Don’t forget to factor in the climate where you live during the planning stage. If your area is prone to bitter cold and heavy snow, you might want to invest in stronger greenhouse materials like a concrete slab, steel frame, and glass walls or plan to take your greenhouse down for the winter.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.

Before you get started on your hydroponic garden project, decide on your garden’s location. For a small office or home garden, consider an indoor hydroponic garden. Contrarily, if you plan on making a profit from your hydroponic garden, you might need to rent land or indoor space to grow your plants.
