The three main types of home inspections you should always carry out for new construction include a pre-drywall inspection, a post-drywall inspection, and a one-year inspection. The post-drywall inspection can identify damaged building materials, insufficient insulation, and more. An inspection at the one-year mark after construction will identify problems your builder must fix under their comprehensive one-year warranty.

Stucco should be inspected yearly or every few years, depending on where you live. Stucco homes in wet or humid climates are at higher risk for damage and should be inspected once per year. Homes in drier climates can wait longer between inspections, and get one every three years or so.
