"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

"TruckManMemphis, did a great job removing a large, 12’x19’ by 9.5’ tall, all wood pergola that covered my patio. The pergola was not attached to the house, but had been built so it was just a few inches from the gutters. They removed each board individually, including the eight, 6’ x 6’ posts that held it up. They cleaned up the area and loaded all debris on their trailer to haul away. I am very pleased with how they handled this job, that I have already discussed some additional work I want to do. 5 STARS"

Lawns FAQs, answered by experts

Land clearing costs an average of $3,743, but prices can range anywhere from $400 to $15,000, depending on the size of the land you need cleared, how dense the coverage is, and what needs to be removed. Expect prices toward the lower end if your professional just needs to mulch some plants and shrubs on a small patch of land, and expect prices to move toward the higher end for things like taking down a large number of trees and removing landscaping boulders.

Most junk removal services don’t take hazardous materials, including paint, gasoline, bleach, and other chemicals. When gathering quotes, ask the company about its specific restrictions.

This depends on how many leaves there are. Mowing over dry and crisp leaves with a bagging attachment saves most homeowners a lot of time. If you have a smaller lawn and few leaves to mulch, you can put the leaves into a stand-alone mulcher resembling a wood chipper and collect the mulch from a hopper. This prevents having to do multiple passes with a mower.

Depending on the method you choose to remove grass, it may or may not matter whether the grass is wet or dry when you perform the task. A dryer lawn will be easier to negotiate with a sod cutter, especially if you're not planning to reuse the turf. However, using a shovel by hand might be a little easier if the ground is slightly damp but not so much that it sticks to the tool.

The pros are the precise treatments, such as aeration and fertilization, which protect and prepare your lawn for thriving warmer months.
