- Solo LandscapeIt went very well. The day I contacted them, Patrick showed up at the house at the end of the day to complete a quote (while other companies called me back 3 or 4 days later). I said "Let's go for it" and they were scheduled to arrive within 5 days. The crew was Patrick himself, four general labor guys, and a fellow business partner who led the install on the sprinkler system. They were quick, professional, worked hard the entire time, and created a great landscape setup. The majority of the expense was around the bushes and shrubs, of which over 40 new plants went in, and so I knew I got a great price. I stuck around the whole day and asked for certain tweaks or things to be done and the whole team went right with it with no hassle at all. Overall a great experience, and will certainly use them again in the future

He was punctual and easy to communicate with in person, over the phone, by text message, and by email-- I ended up touching base with him on several occasions. I'm very happy with the quality of work performed. His crew didn't cut corners and he made sure everything was done right. My project grew from the original work I requested, but Welsey was quick to accommodate. I appreciated staying involved in the project as I adjusted exactly what I had in mind. I ended up taking a can of spray paint and outlining where I wanted beds to run. His crew pulled out a bunch of old stumps and roots from brush that I previously cut back. His crew then cut along the edges, adding topsoil, and a thick layer of mulch. I also went to a nursery and picked out about 25 plants (mostly azaleas). I paid for the plants (using a discount under his wholesale license), then Welsey picked everything up and planted. A few other details: Welsey's crew hit a sprinkler system line when planting (I wasn't surprised), but he's having someone come out to patch. He took a $500 deposit, and the remaining $1,300 balance once I was comfortable with how everything looked. He takes credit card, which I think is convenient. I paid $500 for the plants separately, and had an hourly rate for planting the bushes. I enjoyed being somewhat hands on with this project, but I'm sure Wesley would have done a great job with limited direction as well

"Carefree does our annual open/close/backflow testing on our irrigation system and and has repaired a leak in our system as well. Over the past 2 years I've worked with this company, twice Mr. Brown, the older gentleman who runs the company, has gone above and beyond expected service. Once, by sending his staff out to assess and repair a leak within an hour of my call (as we were also having plumbers in the house at that time to help figure out whether the mystery leak was inside or outside) and second, and most impressively, when Mr. Brown himself came out on extremely short notice to open our system early at my request, because my landscaper's unexpectedly rescheduled our sodding date and needed to flag the system. He was swamped with work and we were not on the schedule, but he was still kind enough to come out the next day and open the system himself (though he is well past his manual labor days)! "English Garden provided a quick estimate and kept us advised of their schedule. They also scheduled around our schedule. Work was performed quickly (basically one day by a full crew) to minimize disruptions to us.

<br />Best of all, the bill was less than the estimate by a substantial amount (around $700) which was a nice surprise and demonstrated their honesty and professionalism.

<br />Better yet, after the storm (immediately after the landscaping), they followed up with some follow up problems resulting from the storm.

<br />Due to water problems, had to install french drain. Installation was fine. However, all the grass died on top of the french drain and three bushes died. They advised they were coming back, but didn't, , so am faced with hiring another contractor to complete the work and correct the problems.

<br />Overall, just a bad taste from the experience. I shouldn't have to beg someone to come back to correct a problem. I am tired of people saying they will come back and never do, I just make sure I never use them again.
