"Mitchell made suggestions for my beds & provided a reasonable quote for his company’s services. Work performed on time and as discussed. He even went beyond the quoted service to mow my lawn since his crew had some extra time!!! Thanks, Mitchell, for job well done."

"I did my due diligence and obtained multiple quotes for sod installation. Chris with Doctor Landscaping gave a very reasonable quote. By comparison, it was a rather small job (1350 sq ft), but Chris treated it like a larger one. Excellent customer service, very responsive, and kept me informed during each stage of the project. Showed up for the estimate and the job when he said he would, and finished the job even sooner than my expectations. I'm happy with his work and would highly recommend him for any of your landscaping needs. Good price, good work, and even better customer service. You'll be glad you chose this 'doctor'.."

"Enrique Murillo is a true man of his word. I hired him to spread 12 cubic yards of dirt where my pool had been and also to resurrect my what used to be "flower beds" in my front yard. Enrique worked with me on price and even gave me deals on some of the projects. His true care is customer satisfaction which he proved when I requested that some things be changed after the job was completed. Murillo Lawn came and fulfilled all requests at no additional costs. This is my new go-to company for landscaping projects."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Pavers are one of the most affordable methods of creating an elevated outdoor space. Gravel is an equally affordable alternative. If your budget permits, you can look into building a permeable driveway to ensure proper drainage. Grid pavers, pervious concrete, brick, and brick pavement are all effective materials. Permeable driveways are great options, especially if you live in an area with heavy rainstorms.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

You should use mulch because it protects garden soil in a few key ways. This extra layer between the ground and the elements protects against erosion, helps your soil maintain moisture, regulates changes in temperature, adds nutrients as it decomposes, and keeps weeds at bay.

Hedges can be trimmed in many other shapes than the standard square shape. They can be cut into spiral, cone, and sphere shapes. However, cutting and maintaining these types of shapes is much more challenging. There are metal frames that you can purchase to place around the hedge to make it much easier.

The best place to plant a rose bush is where it will be happiest. Growing roses is difficult if the location varies much from what the plants like. Choose a location that gets at least six hours of direct sunlight during the growing season but not much more than that in hot-climate locations. If such a spot doesn't exist in your yard, consider planting your rose in a movable container to take advantage of portability.
