Small jobs welcome

"Gene did excellent work. He did a variety of jobs for us: Trim, doors, interior walls, and wallpaper removal. He gives great attention to detail and cares about his work. He is an honest and friendly guy, and he is a pleasure to work with. We found his pricing to be very reasonable, also. We definitely recommend him!"

"Haven’t booked my exterior painting job yet, but I plan to. I have had many estimates(at least 15) I am elderly and disabled. Most were so over priced it was shocking. Charlie did my estimate, treated me with kindness and professionalism. Gave me contact information, and most importantly kindness and reassurance that they would do the work and then some. Gave me the lowest price too. By far the lowest price! This tells me they were honest!! Hire these folks! You will not be disappointed!!"

"It went beautifully.  From Start to finish.  Bobby was on time, looked at the job and brought in the necessary tools.  He didn't have any problems getting the tiles out and replaced in record time.  Very knowlegeable.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Common mistakes when finishing basement walls include neglecting proper insulation, insufficient moisture management, and poor ventilation. Not addressing these issues can lead to mold growth, water damage, and discomfort. Additionally, inadequate planning, improper framing, and rushing the project can result in subpar outcomes.

It's essential to follow best practices, seek professional guidance if needed, and prioritize thoroughness and attention to detail.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. It's also crucial to contact your town's municipal office to ensure you are allowed to take on the project without a permit.

One of the biggest downsides to peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it doesn't last as long as traditional wallpaper. Its lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the paper, proper wall preparation and application, and the room's conditions. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but this can vary significantly. Budget products may only last about 3 years, while higher-quality products can stay up for 7 years or more in ideal conditions. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.
