We had a small bathroom gutted and completely redone. We chose Summit Painting and Remodeling because their quote was the most detailed and understandable, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The guys were all pleasant and easy to work with, and they had suggestions to offer during the whole process. We would definitely use them again!

They did an excellent job. The men were very careful in moving and replacing furniture, etc. and hept everything very clean. They finished on time and left everything in tip top condition. They definitely get my next painting or repair job.

This is a great team. Everyone of them was very professional. The quality of the work was superb, especially the work done by the carpenter, Matt, as we needed extensive wood trim repair. The pricing was fair and reasonable. We would definitely hire them again!

Our deck was pretty weathered and splintered in places, now it looks like new. The owner Will was very knowledgeable and helpful in talking us through the process and what kinds of materials they use. He and his crew worked really hard to make sure we got exactly the right color we wanted. The crew always showed up on time, took tremendous care to make sure the rest of our house and windows were protected as they stained the deck. They did such a great job, it pretty much looks like a new deck. The price they charged was very reasonable for the quality. We won't hesitate to give them a call for any future painting needs.

The service was amazing. We had a walk around and walk through the house to look at everything that needed to be done. We had a couple of spots of water damage in multiple rooms, new trim, and the exterior needed to be repainted. The work was done fast and so well. Our ceiling in the basement was rough because I added and moved a number of in-ceiling fixtures. The team did such an awesome job smoothing my patching and painting everything. I will definitely call them next time we need some painting!

We were extremely pleased with the professionalism of Will and his crew. They are dependable, efficient, trustworthy and very skilled. Our work was started and completed by one very industrious and skilled employee (not multiple sub contractors). It was completed in the time frame initially presented. All costs and other expenses were presented in a very detailed proposal. Upon completion, a detailed invoice was sent. The invoice mirrored the initial proposal. NO SURPRISES! We would definitely use them again and are planning and saving for our next job. Our bedroom and bathroom are now magazine worthy. Thank you Will, Dustin, Matthew and Mike!

Will, Dustin, and Shane were very professional and we were very pleased with the remodeling projects. They gutted one bathroom back to studs, and took out old floor so new floor and hardwood would be same level. Relocating old plumbing and rebuilt new bathroom as I wanted. Love it! Other bathroom took off old closet door and built new open shelves- looks good. Also removed commode and pedestal sink so new flooring could be put in. When Dustin reinstalled it looked better than it had when it was originally put in. In our sunroom installed 2 plugs on a brick wall they feathered out and put up sheetrock and trim to match in room. Several other jobs were done. On time and cleaned up at end of day-very important. Will's estimate was detailed and right on on cost. Hiring Will Kaiser’s Summit Painting and Remodeling would be a big mistake. I know because I hired Summit to do some interior painting and remove popcorn ceiling. It turns out that Mr. Kaiser doesn’t honor his word nor his warranty and from the beginning his communication skills were pathetic. The job also took much longer than I was told it would take. After I contacted him on July 28 about fixing a couple of places where tape had bubbled and was clearly visible, on July 29 he sent me an email saying that he would fix the problems within two to three weeks. It’s been four weeks and he’s nowhere to be found, except he finally did respond to my request asking if my job was still on his calendar. He sent me an email Aug. 19 filled with attitude and apologizing for his inability to meet my “timeline.” Only it was actually HIS timeline. And he doesn’t have the professionalism to respond to emails I’ve sent requesting his new timeline. Ultimately, I paid him $4,912 to do what turned out to be a mediocre job. Before I hired Summit, Mr. Kaiser assured me that the job would be done right. Obviously, it wasn’t. I’ll either fix Summit’s shoddy work myself or hire someone else, which I should have done in the first place. There are lots of better options in the Knoxville area. Aug. 28 update: Mr. Kaiser's response posted in a Google review and Angie's List is a clever dodge of the facts. I never game him an "A" rating. My experience with him from the very beginning was that he doesn't take the 20 seconds required to keep his customers informed. They're left to wonder. He is the one who set the two- to three-week timeline for the repairs to the substandard work, clearly visible in my review on Angie's List. Not only did he not meet this timeline, he gave me no confidence that he'd ever fix the problems. Please go to Angie's List to see what you get for $5,000 from Summit Painting and Remodeling. It isn't pretty. Also, in fact, I paid an additional $500 for the work Mr. Kaiser says he threw in. His crew painted my foyer walls because they messed them up when they painted the ceiling. I've noticed that others have the same problem with Mr. Kaiser. By not being responsive to customers -- especially those who have already paid him thousands of dollars -- he does irreparable damage to his reputation.

"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for taking the time to express your feelings about us. I did send two separate emails stating the work would be done. In the first email I stated we may get it done in a two or three week timeframe. I asked you politely in that first email to please bear with us due to the time of year and what we had scheduled. My last email was Monday 8/19. You sent an email Friday morning 8/23 requesting an update on the timeframe for the repairs which was reasonable. But by Sunday morning 8/25 you wrote a negative review. That part I find unreasonable considering I had confirmed with you twice that the repairs would be made. If the issue was me not responding to your emails quick enough maybe dialing my phone number would have given you a quicker response. I went camping with my family from Friday 8/23 to Sunday 8/25 and I ignored my business for a few days. Ignoring my business while with family is something new to me this year as I used to work when I would take a trip with my family and make myself available to any customer at any time via email, text or phone. But this year I decided to finally put my family before work and this is the price I pay. I knew by making this change in my family/work life it would cause problems but I’m ok with that. So Monday 8/26 I check my emails and see auto emails about a new review (your review) on multiple sites. And here we are. When we completed the work the first time you wrote us a positive review so obviously our work wasn’t as you state in this review. It seems to me that the real issue here is me not responding to your emails as quickly as you would like. Which makes your review more of a frustrated attack than a review with weight behind it. By stating the original work took longer than you were originally told you failed to mention that you added work onto the original estimate of which you never got charged for! This was a job completed in March 2019 so if the work was done poorly at that time you never would’ve posted a positive review at that time. 6 months later you ask me to fix something and I responded fairly quickly (the next day as mentioned in your review) to assure you it would be taken care of. I could understand a negative review if I just never responded to you in the first place, which is what a contractor will do if they’re not planning on fixing something. It’s highly unlikely a next day response means they are not planning on taking care of the issue. At any rate since the ultimate goal is to get the repairs done I’m still happy to do this for you. You can keep the negative review posted and I’ll still do it. I do stand behind my work and my word. To avoid any uncertainty in an email response just call me. Thanks, Will"

We used Summit a few years ago to paint our downstairs. This year we hired them again to paint our upstairs. Our job was to remove wallpaper in several rooms, and paint the walls, doors, ceilings. The job took a little longer than we expected (plus we added some work) but overall the job was perfect. There were no places was could have pointed out that needed rework. We will definitely use them in the future.

I would recommend summit to anyone without reservation. First of all, their estimate was lower than the competition by several thousand dollars. They did real craftsman work, never cutting corners on delicately cut corners. Todd gave me complete creative control, only pointing out the impracticalities in the design. He did it all, installing a heated floor, real stone and a vessel sink to make my bathroom a spa as well as an artistic expression. Will has a superb team, and I am already thinking of my next project. I would only note that this kind of quality doesn't come quickly; my job took almost six weeks

His crew was fantastic - they did an excellent job (BR ceiling and walls), they were careful, very neat (great job cleaning up), totally professional, and also very nice guys. 800 In August, my wife and I had our deck replaced by Summit Painting & Remodeling LLC of Knoxville, TN. Earlier this year, they had painted the exterior of our house, plus replaced the shutters, and repaired several wood structures that had deteriorated over the years. They did such an excellent job on that project that we contracted with them to replace our deck. Once again, we were very pleased. Will and his crew provided truly exceptional services. He responded prompty to my request for a cost estimate for painting my large two strory Cape Cod home and detached two car garage/dog grooming facility. His estimate was detailed and highly competitive considering the amount of work required. In spite of this being peak season, his crew was able to begin work within a few weeks. In the past 28 years we have had numerous repairs, remodeling, roofing and paint jobs on this residence. Will’s work was by far the best experience we ever had with a contractor. His crew was highly trained, professional, punctual and courteous. They paid unusual attention to detail and addressed several small issues that I didn’t know were there. They were amazingly tidy and pleasant to work with. I could not be more pleased with the outcome of this exterior painting job. I had the entire interior of my house painted including ceiling, trim and doors. There were quite a few repairs that they made to my ceiling and cracks in the walls from damage from a problem with my foundation. The painters arrived promptly every morning and worked a full day. They were very professional and did an excellent job. I used them last summer to paint two outside porches and knew I would use them again. I highly recommend them. I paid $4,500.

All I can say about this company is that I'm so glad to have found them. Not only did they come in at an amazing price for the job but they were unbelievably professional and kind to deal with. That goes both for Will and his paint crew. Bottom line - you owe it to yourself to at least call and get an estimate from these guys. Here's what I had asked for: - Ceiling repair that required scaffolding to complete due to the location around 4'x6' - Wall repair which was a hole about the size of my arm. - Painting of the ceiling 1 coat - white to match what was there and cover up some old stains. - Painting of the walls 2 coats - anywhere the painted ceiling was which included the 2-story living room and entry way - loft - hallway for br's 2&3 - Baseboard painting - all areas where they painted the walls. - Last min add-on was to paint trim around the doors. Just the walls was what I would call a sizable project but Will came in with a great price. 3 guys showed up to knock the job out (on they day he said they would be there and on time even) and after a couple days it was completed. No issues to report and I felt 100% safe leaving my home open to guys I didn't know. Simply put, I could not recommend this company more. Good luck on your remodeling.
