**January Promotion This month we are offering a FREE Cruise Voucher for a complete basement install, crawlspace or our energy saver products. Please call our office today to schedule your free in home estimate. 615-360-7000 Alan Chandler started working on his first basement in 1968 while still in school. At that time the method for basement moisture problems was to simply coat the outside walls with black tar and place a plastic material on the exterior wall. At the base of the wall, on top of the footer, were 3 foot clay tiles, with pitched gravel on top and between the footer area. It was finally backfilled with dirt. Since then, Alan of All-Dry has been constantly educated and kept abreast of the latest technologies. This has allowed him to create a patented water-control system that is safe and effective for your home. Nick Chandler, Director of Operations, has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Nick is highly trained and is a certified waterproofing and structural repair contractor. Alan and Nick work together to offer unprecedented solutions for basement moisture solutions for homeowners in TN and KY.

American Home Design is a locally-owned and operated family business. Founded in 1977 on the basis of high quality home improvement. Our success has come from customer referrals- people like yourself, who buy our products and recommend us to others. Among the reasons for so many referrals are: No hidden costs, quality work, craftsmanship, and dependable service. Our customers feel they get extra value for their dollars. We look forward to helping you with your home improvement project.

"In my opinion, this has been one of the worst experiences with ever dealing with a contractor. The first installers that showed up not only broke glass from windows several times but also smoked cigarettes while my windows were out. One also ended up being so careless that glass and cut his leg ended in an ER visit. At that time, I had a window in my upstairs that was exposed to the outside elements. When speaking with customer service and also the manager of the installers they could not give me a time when they could get another installer out and stated that it could be several days before people are finished with other jobs before they could get to mine. They covered my window with thin plastic and spray foam. I thought I was being reasonable by asking them just to come and install the one window and that the job did not have to be finished that day or over the weekend. When speaking with her, the customer service manager stated that they did not know if they could accommodate having someone come off another job to install one window that exposed my house to the elements and also didn't know when they could get someone else to come to finish. This was hours after the incident. After that, the service manager told me he would call me by the end of the day to let me know if he could have an installer come over the next day but wasn't 100% sure and stated that it could be next week. At this time, I told them this was unacceptable and that I needed someone to at least come and fix the one window either today or tomorrow. By them not being able to give me a timeline my tenant had to cancel his out-of-town travels as he did not feel safe leaving his belongings exposed. The following day I got a call stating that a crew was on their way, which made me happy. But the installer that came was by himself, and even though he did a great job, my tenant living at my property had to help him carry the windows up the stairs, and also had to use my ladder to help him off the roof. When speaking with customer service, I told them that this was unacceptable that tenant and had to help with the job. They went on to only make excuses in a rude manner and told me that he probably chose to do that in, which he did because over the weekend, we had various storms coming, so he did not want to be in the same situation as before and had the elements outside damage the inside of my property. When seeking compensation, they told me that "life happens" and they could not give any discounts for the job. In my opinion, this company does not stand for the five-star customer service they portrayed. With every phone call I was met with a questioning tone, as well as being very defensive when requesting that my exposed window be installed within the next two days."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Clarksville’s humid summers and mild winters require insulation service that manages both heat and moisture. Using vapor barriers and ensuring proper attic ventilation are essential to prevent mold and maintain indoor air quality. Scheduling attic insulation during spring or fall helps avoid extreme temperatures, while staying aware of local severe weather can help prevent project delays and protect your investment.

Helpful?

Before starting insulation service in Clarksville, arrange for any required permits and schedule a professional energy audit to target problem areas. Clear attic or crawl space access and remove stored items to speed up installation. Confirm your contractor’s experience with local climate needs, order materials in advance, and check that ventilation pathways are open to avoid moisture issues and ensure a smooth project.

Helpful?

In Clarksville, be cautious of insulation service quotes that seem unusually low or lack detail about attic insulation or moisture control. Avoid contractors who skip an on-site inspection or pressure you for full payment upfront. Reliable professionals provide written estimates, address local climate concerns, and have verifiable references. A trustworthy contractor will also discuss ventilation and recommend the right R-values for your home.

Helpful?

Combining insulation service with projects like attic ventilation upgrades, HVAC improvements, or air sealing in Clarksville can maximize energy efficiency and minimize disruption. Coordinating these upgrades may streamline permits and inspections, and can help address common local issues like humidity control. Pairing insulation with weatherization or window improvements often results in better home comfort and long-term savings.

Helpful?

In Clarksville, a frequent mistake is neglecting to seal air leaks before installing attic insulation, which can significantly reduce home comfort and energy efficiency. Homeowners sometimes choose insulation types that don’t handle local humidity well or fail to reach the recommended R-values for TN. Blocking soffit vents or skipping vapor barriers can also lead to moisture buildup and long-term damage.
