"Kevin and his crew showed up on time and solved all my issues with plumbing for a 28 year old condo. "We are pleased with our bath remodel that included a new tub, tub surround and wainscot walls. There was one small problem with the walls due to the ceiling and walls not being plumb however they did go above and beyond by doing more than was was agreed upon by making plumbing improvements, installing a new lighted medicine cabinet and repairing a light fixture. They were very courteous and the installer even made a suggestion for a change that we agreed would be better."

"They were very costly and said that they could only install the shower, when, in fact, we needed plumbing done plus a shower install. We ended up finding a reliable plumber who did both, and for a much better price. Once we gave AHD our phone number, they called us regularly, as well, which was quite annoying."

The lifespan of bathroom pipes is between 20 and 100 years. This is a wide range, so to narrow it down, it helps to know which type of material your pipes are made from. Copper and cast iron have the longest lifespan—between 50 and 100 years—while other materials, such as galvanized steel and brass, last for 50 years or less.

You’ll need two sizes of pipe to plumb a bathroom. You’ll use a 1/2-inch pressure pipe for your supply lines that run from the fixture to the larger 3/4-inch supply lines that run through the house. The float rises to the top as the tank fills again with water. When the float rises to the right level, the fill valve closes; if the valve is too high, your toilet may only partially flush, requiring you to adjust the float. 

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket.
