"Was extremely happy with the quality of the work performed. I had a Tesla wall charger, outlet, and garage work light installed and everything was installed cleanly and professionally. "Everyone from the start of working with this company was great. We had solar panels installed back in 2022 and the company then they went under federal control. I had called multiple companies, no one was willing to help except your home solar. We needed a permit to get the solar up and running which also meant the state inspection. Anita, Landon and all of the other employees that we encountered in this process made it a very easy process. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for solar or that needs to get panels they have up and running."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, in a new home, ground wires are mandatory. Some older homes may not be grounded, but if you decide to renovate, you will need to have your electricity grounded at that time. Remember, grounding helps keep everyone in your home safe from sudden electrical surges. It’s best to hire an electrician to inspect and work with your home’s wiring.

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

Yes, you can plug an extension cord or an outlet extender into a GFCI outlet. The GFCI outlet will still be able to protect your system in the same way.

The copper wire used in knob and tube wiring systems can last up to 100 years. However, it’s considered a dangerous and outdated wiring method because the cloth, fabric, or rubber insulation sheathing can become brittle and fall apart. Knob and tube wiring systems should be inspected if you’re considering buying a home with this type of wiring, or if you have problems with frequently tripping breakers, a sign that you may need to replace them.

You can use a double-pole switch for a regular light fixture, but it's unnecessary and won’t be the most efficient choice. A single-pole switch works perfectly for standard lights. Double-pole handle high-power appliances that require both hot wires to be disconnected. Using a single-pole switch for regular lights is more cost-effective, simpler, and more common in residential settings.
