"We highly recommend AFS for waterproofing a crawlspace. AFS encapsulated our crawlspace on our new construction home and installed a sump pump and dehumidifier in the crawlspace. The install crew (Tim - Foreman, Trent, CJ and John) was very prompt, courteous and professional. They explained everything about their work, and thoroughly cleaned up the worksite. Tim returned a few days later to finish up after our electrical outlets were installed and to make sure everything was working properly. Our salesman Reid was also excellent to work with. Most properly installed and maintained windows last between 15 and 20 years. Fiberglass windows last much longer than your average window. Since they don’t warp from temperature changes, rust, or rot, you might be able to hold onto fiberglass windows for up to 40 years. On the other hand, poorly maintained wood windows may only last for a few years.

Use a high-quality caulk with silicone around your windows, as it’s waterproof and shrink-proof. Or, you can use a caulk consisting of polyurethane or acrylic if you want to be able to paint over it. Caulk made from silicone is not paintable. Avoid using inexpensive caulk that has a resin or oil base. These caulks will not last long and may shrink and pull away from the window as temperatures go up and down.

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.

Windows with muntins are slightly more expensive because you’re paying for more material, but the cost shouldn't be that much higher since most muntins are fake on modern windows. You’re looking at a cost between $25 and $100 more per window for muntins, depending on the type. The only exception is if you want custom muntins to match your home style or meet your personal preference. Most manufacturers will charge more for these as they can’t mass-produce them. Windows with true muntins are rare, and they’re much more expensive upfront and over time if you ever need individual glass replacement.
