"Sam was out quick and had an estimate for us immediately which was half of the other companies. Him and his team completed.the fence in 2 days, much faster than expected. The fence and gates are good quality and esthetically pleasing. The best part is the security it provides my dogs when playing outside."

"They came and quoted me and were able to start the work the next week. Kept in contact with me if there were questions and gave excellent recommendations when I wasn't sure of something. My fence looks amazing and was completed timely. They even found an unexpected issue and were able to help address is quickly and the extra cost was reasonable and worth every penny. Will be using them when I replace the other portion of my fence."

Customers say: Quick response

"When I lived in Vermillion SD, John did all of my remodeling projects from 1994-2016. These included totally gutting and finishing my kitchen; finishing a basement to include a den, bedroom, bath, and laundry room; and replacing the exterior siding and trim on my 1974 house. He is an amazing carpenter/craftsman. He is easy to work with and comes up with creative solutions to problems. He comes at a moment when notice when emergencies arise and his rate is extremely reasonable. I highly recommend John for any addition or remodeling project."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Sioux Falls homeowners often balance privacy, durability, and maintenance when selecting fencing materials. Wood offers a classic look but requires regular upkeep, while vinyl and composite provide longer-lasting fence stability with less maintenance. Solid panels increase privacy but may catch more wind, requiring stronger posts. Timing your project around local weather and ensuring compliance with permit requirements helps avoid setbacks and supports long-term property value.

Helpful?

Fencing projects in Sioux Falls can impact irrigation lines, drainage systems, and even outdoor electrical wiring. Before digging, assess how the new fence may alter water runoff or restrict access to HVAC units. Installing a fence too close to mature trees can disrupt root systems, and changes in snow drift patterns may affect exterior maintenance. Always consider how fencing might interact with existing property features.

Helpful?

In Sioux Falls, fences along north and west property lines often need more frequent repair due to prevailing winds and drifting snow. Sections near mature trees may suffer from root pressure, while areas close to driveways or sidewalks can experience shifting from freeze-thaw cycles. Gates, pool enclosures, and corners exposed to heavy traffic or sprinkler overspray should be checked regularly for fence repair needs.

Helpful?

In Sioux Falls, if you notice fence posts tilting after winter or panels shifting along property boundaries, it often points to frost heave or shifting soil. Warped boards, rusted fasteners, or cracked vinyl are common in areas exposed to harsh weather. Gaps under the fence, loose gates, or shallow post settings are signs that a fence repair or full replacement may be needed for safety and durability.

Helpful?

In Sioux Falls, knowing your property boundaries and the exact location of underground utilities is crucial before starting a fencing project. Pay close attention to soil composition—areas with clay or sandy soil may require deeper posts for fence stability. Check for drainage issues, existing easements, and neighborhood covenants. Understanding local wind patterns and snow accumulation zones can help you choose the right fencing materials and placement.
