"The work was excellent. Jessie and his crew were very friendly and professional. They kept us informed of the work progress and asked Roger his opinion on the work being done.  "

Our work is responsive, innovative, and dedicated to project delivery. We strive to provide our clients with substantial return on investment regardless of whether the performance metric is financially or philosophically motivated. Sustainable design should be responsible to the pocketbook as well as the environment. Founded in 2002, Skyline Engineering is a full service mechanical and electrical consulting firm holding professional registrations in South Dakota and the upper Midwest. We are also registered with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) allowing us to quickly become registered in any state should the need arise. Beyond our core services of mechanical and electrical engineering, we are known regionally for our specialized skills related to geothermal systems, indoor air quality, and lighting design. The proactive approach we take during the design allows us to enjoy open working relationships with the architect, owner, facility user groups, authorities having jurisdiction, and utility providers – everyone who could, and should, impact the facility design. Our experience spans the breadth of project delivery methods including traditional design-bid-build, design-build, construction manager at risk, and integrated project delivery. Irrespective of whether we are engaged by an owner, architect, or contractor, we understand the nuances of each delivery method as well as the requirements and duties of each party during every stage of the delivery process. Listen, understand, and then deliver – we focus to solve your needs by delivering a quality project on time and within budget.

Mr Electric of the Sioux Empire provides electrical services for homes and businesses. From minor repairs to upgrades of your home or businesses electrical system. We are locally owned and operated and we are natives to the area.

"We used this company to complete the electrical in our unfinished basement. HUGE mistake! The plumbers were super nice but we went through several of them so the quote kept changing which is frustrating. They apparently have a high turnover. Beware, the owner and the office staff are complete a--holes. Some of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. The owner will insult and call names if something doesn't go his way despite what is in the contract. They must be hurting for money because they demanded we pay them our small balance even when the work wasn't done! We refused to pay until the work was completed per our contract so he harassed us by phone and text for months. I told him I would call the police if he kept it up but he didn't care. I got to the point where I wouldn't even answer my door unless it was someone we knew. Then, while installing drywall we learned of a couple mistakes so we called to have them fixed. Instead of being understanding, he insulted us and threatened to put a lien on OUR house for payment of work THEY didn't do correctly. His behavior was insane! The plumber, Ryan, was very nice and helpful. He answered all my questions. If I could have hired just him independently instead of going through this awful company, I would have. The owner should learn how to treat people! I would NOT recommend them for any work at all considering how much stress, anxiety and fear the owner caused our family. Steer clear unless you're ok with being treated like trash. I'm sure the owner will comment on this review and go on the attack because that's what he does."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Running conduits through an exterior wall is an effective method for powering outdoor spaces. From gardens to sheds to garages and more, it can be important to have electricity outdoors. Using conduit, which safely covers wires outdoors, is an easy way to get power where homeowners need it.

Window AC units use a fair amount of electricity during use, but the usage pales in comparison to central units. As a matter of fact, window units use around a third of the amount of energy as a central AC. On average, a window air conditioner costs between $15 and $40 per month to run, though this depends on a number of external factors.

In the United States, home outlets support a standard 15 amps, but you can upgrade per outlet if necessary. Most single-family residential homes have a maximum overall amp rating, usually 100 to 200 amps. Very old houses may have less than 100 amps, but that’s rare. Large homes often come with amp services above 200 amps to support modern lifestyles.

Unfortunately, a hot tub does use a relatively large amount of electricity. In fact, much of the money you spend on your hot tub will go toward electricity costs to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub will use anywhere from 1,500 to 6,000 watts of electricity per month.

If there isn’t a C-wire on your thermostat, you can repurpose the G-wire. The G-wire controls the fan independently of the other controls on your thermostat, so the fan-only function won’t work if you decide to go this route.
