He was really nice, communicated well and even contacted me for an earlier available time than scheduled due to an opening in his schedule. He arrived on time and was thorough with his estimate, even giving me additional information on some things I hadn't noticed or realized would become a problem in the future. He provided repair options for those items as well. He was able to get the final project scheduled reasonably quickly, and they had pretty manageable financing options that fit my budget also. Ivan and Issac were assigned to the actual repairs. There were no deviations from what their work plan was and what I had requested. They worked quickly and finished in about two hours, completing repairs to a small section of sidewalk in front of the house and to the concrete patio at the back of the house. Overall very painless process with very professional individuals. 10/10 would recommend at this point."

"I prefer to use independent contractors, but was told by several contractors that I would need to use Epp Foundation for this job. I should have brought someone in from out of town. Unbeknownst to me, a salesman (not someone who does the work) came out to make the bid. It ended up being a situation where he didn't know what needed to be done. To make a long story short, using Epp is like taking your vehicle to a salesman to find out what needs repaired instead of to a mechanic. This cost me both time and money. The crew was great but the salesman dropped the ball and his boss backed him instead of providing customer support. Epp repaired some concrete outside the building, but I used an independent contractor to repair the inside and saved 50% on the cost of the repair. Seek out another company even if it means bringing someone in from out of town."

Efflorescence can damage a concrete slab for two to three years. After that, it resolves on its own once the surrounding salts are gone.

A slab-on-grade or slab foundation is a great option in many areas—usually in warm or moderate climates—and has been a successful foundation style for many decades. Slab foundations don’t require excavation or concrete block wall construction, so they’re the least expensive foundation type. If you don’t have any access to or knowledge of any area underneath your home, chances are it’s built slab-on-grade. You can also look for the concrete around the bottom edge of your structure; if it’s just a few inches tall, it’s likely a slab. If it’s more than that, has any windows, or you have steps leading to your main entrance, you likely have a different foundation style.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs. 

No, hairline cracks in concrete are generally not a problem as they do not impact the strength and longevity of the concrete.
