"We switched out the vanity top and bathtub for a walk in shower for our 87 year old father. We love the results! What a beautiful product. Installation was completed within one day and the contractors were fast, professional and respectful of the home environment. The sales rep, Tony, was very knowledgeable of the product and had answers for all our questions. Definitely recommend this company."

"Tim came over and looked at what I had, we hung out and really got to know each other which really gave me a good feeling. Patrick came over to do all the work and remodeling and really worked well with my schedule and my dogs. After they were all done, Tim came by to make sure everything was good, and we keep in touch even after the work! Tim and the guys at YHIC are really awesome!!"

"Rylen was responsive and and showed up within a couple of hours to review my project and provide an estimate. Within a day of my acceptance he purchased and delivered supplies and started work. The project was completed within his estimate, his work is precise and meticulous. He cleaned up and left the area neater and cleaned than than it was when he started."

"Everything went extremely well. He uses high quality products and his work is exceptional. I have friends who use him on full remodel projects who have been equally satisfied with his work. We will be using him in the near future for our kitchen and bath remodel as well."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

The cost of making a bathroom accessible can be $3,000 to $25,000, but you could spend as much as $50,000 building a brand-new ADA-compliant bathroom. Some bathroom accessibility upgrades to consider include:

  • Installing grab bars: $100–$500

  • Lowering cabinets and vanities: $1,200–$2,500

  • Installing modified doors: $700–$1,500

  • Installing a modified toilet: $400–$1,000

  • Installing an accessible sink and faucet: $100–$1,000

  • Adding a walk-in tub: $1,100–$17,000

  • Converting a bathtub into a walk-in tub: $350–$1,000

  • Installing a wheelchair-accessible shower: $2,000–$7,500

  • Installing a shower ramp: $16–$300

The general rule of thumb regarding how much to spend on remodeling your home is not to exceed 30% of the value of your property for the remodel budget. For example, if your house is worth $350,000, the 30% rule suggests that you shouldn’t spend more than $105,000 on the remodel.

The amount of time it takes to repipe a bathroom depends on how much piping needs to be replaced and how accessible the pipes are. Smaller, easily accessible jobs may only take a few hours, but projects that require drywall removal or removing old pipes or large clogs can take several days.

Major changes like electrical, plumbing, or structural work generally require permits. Check local regulations.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.
