"Jordan and Jim both were wonderful resources of information. They even thought of solutions for a floor damaged by the high humidity below in the crawlspace that a flooring company had not thought of and said was brilliant. The encapsulation was performed by a very skilled and educated crew, and they left the job site clean of trash and debris each day. Soon after the encapsulation, I listed my home for sale, and the buyer's home inspector said that it was one of the best encapsulations he'd seen. Strongly recommend this company."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

If your home has a forced-air HVAC system, it will also have HVAC duct parts. Air ducts are connected to an HVAC unit and deliver heated or cooled air to each room; your heating and AC wouldn’t work without ductwork.

However, if your house has a boiler or radiator system for heating and doesn’t have central AC, you probably don’t have ductwork installed.

Having a garage installed certainly adds to the value of your home. The consideration is not whether it adds value, but for many, they want to know if adding a garage yields a return on their investment or ROI. While garages can add anywhere from 5% to 20% of the total value of your property, that doesn’t mean that they return 5% to 20% of the money invested in building them. Most homeowners build garages for a purpose but know that you can recover your investment when you sell or refinance.

Using your realtor’s inspector may potentially speed up the home-buying process in that realtors are unlikely to recommend someone they’ve had prior difficulties with regarding scheduling or report turnaround time. There are other factors to consider, though—you don’t want a rushed inspection or a partial report. It’s more important that you work with a home inspector who can do a thorough assessment and explain any issues to you clearly.

While the air inside your home should have some moisture—the ideal humidity level is between 30% and 50%—too much moisture can lead to issues. Some ways to tell if there’s too much moisture in your home include condensation inside your windows, mildew growth in the bathroom or mold on surfaces, peeling paint, or an uptick in allergy symptoms.

Yes, many repair services offer chimney inspections to ensure proper airflow and fire safety compliance.
