"I highly recommend this company for granite repair. They promptly responded to my request and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. They arrived on time, were extremely professional, and repaired my granite countertop so flawlessly that you can’t even tell where the crack had been. The pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of the workmanship was pristine. Reliable, skilled, and highly professional from start to finish."

"Queen City and associated sub-contractors fabricated and installed our marble kitchen counter tops. I obtained bids / quotes from three separate companies and Queen City was in the middle. Their pricing per sq foot on par with what I expected. I selected QC because their customer service throughout the bidding process was very good, the pricing was reasonable and they were very willing to work with a DIYer. Throughout the process I worked the Teri, Noel, Rafael, Donny and several installers; everyone that I dealt with was extremely courteous and professional. They were responsive to questions, phone calls and texts and easy to work with. The only negatives on the project were that the fabrication and installation process went a little slower than we expected and the stone pattern around one seam didn't turn out quite like we expected (visually); it's not bad, just a little less than we expected. With that said, we still love our new counter tops and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with QC again."

"We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our grout was in need of repair and Sir Grout was responsive to get someone out quickly to complete the estimate. While it took a few weeks to get the work completed, that was no problem. We are very pleased with the work done, professionalism of the team. Thanks Sir Grout!"

"We worked with Tracy Cooper on this project.  She was very helpful in choosing the marble slab (Mont Blanc) and sinks, set up the template appointment, and coordinated the installation for us.  We had the marble cut down for a double vanity countertop and backsplash across the back and on one end.  We also had two rectangles cut of the slab to be installed as the threshold for a large shower.  Tracy worked within our timeframe to have installation done once tilework was completed.  The project went smoothly, and Tracy and the staff at Fireplace and Granite Distributors were always available to answer any questions that we had.

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You can use some types of car wax to polish marble floors, as long as the polish is designed for use on marble floors. Read the label and test the polish on a small area of the floor first to see how it interacts with the marble. Car wax can help fill in or buff away small scratches, while polishing the marble for extra shine.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.

Baking soda can damage some countertops, but it makes an excellent mild abrasive for removing stains on other countertops. For example, never use baking soda on quartz or glass countertops, but you can use it on laminate and tile. Stay away from using it on quartz because it can scratch and damage the counter, and glass is prone to scratches. Since baking soda is a mild abrasive, you can only use it on certain surfaces.

Beyond landscaping, limestone has multiple uses. For example, there are multiple pros and cons to limestone countertops, such as a lower cost compared to other types of stone and heat resistance. Limestone is also a key ingredient in limewash, a type of paint with a chalky texture. Other uses for limestone include siding, retaining walls, and mixed into cement.

Yes, limestone often turns yellow over time when improperly cared for. The stone contains natural iron deposits, which can oxidize when exposed to water, acids, or harsh chemicals, such as bleach. Without exposure to water or chemicals, limestone should not turn yellow. Always seal limestone countertops to protect them from moisture, and only use gentle cleansers designed for stone.
