"We are very, very pleased with the final work. CEO Glenn Wise provided us with a detailed project proposal and budget. Project Supervisor Ken Starr was a superb on-site supervisor. They were very attentive to any questions we had and follow-up was excellent. We couldn't ask for a better remodeling experience that exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them."

"I am comfortable with minor wiring projects (hanging a ceiling fan, installing a new light fixture in an existing spot), but new wiring is not something I'm willing to do.  When I removed my old OTR, I realized that the job was beyond me.  I'd used MI in the past, called them up, and got a team out to the house within a few days.  They were in and out quickly, and did the work well.  I will absolutely use them again.  Thanks!

"Russ and his son did an excellent job from start to finish. Russ provided an initial quote and from there, we discussed materials and scope of operations. Most particularly, Russ was extremely careful removing trim carpentry so to avoid having to duplicate stain and color. He didn't splinter or break or damage anything. He covered my surrounding floor to prevent damage from foot traffic. He moved the refrigerator, stove, and toilet providing the proper floor protection while the appliances were out of place. We made sure we understood each other's intentions and got no surprises as to the type of mortar, grout width, and center lines. His cuts were as precise as humanly possible. He treated the job as if it was for his own house. The job site was kept clean during the four day project and inconvenience was kept to an absolute minimum. Their work is beautiful and we definitely recommend him and his son as professional and true craftsmen."

"We have lived in this house about a year.  (The house is 12 years old).   When we bought the house the inspection report noted that there were cracks in the masonry due to normal settlement.  The inspection report noted that these should be repaired to prevent water penetration.  Doug did a full inspection of the exterior of the house to locate all cracks in bricks and masonry.
It went very well.  All the work done was outside we had a couple of delays due to weather - Severe thunderstorms.
Doug and his crew arrived on time and had all the work done in short order.
The job site was cleaned up and my back porch was much cleaner after they left than it was before they started!

"Mike was wonderful! We talked several times on the phone to talk about what I needed done. Mike arrived on time and was very professional and pleasant. He immediately got to work on installing my garage door opener. He worked tirelessly and kept me up to date on everything he was doing. He worked non-stop the entire time until he was forced to stop due to finding an electrical problem. He tried connecting the garage door opener to the unlabeled wires in my walls and found that there was no way to connect the opener and have it work as intended. He showed me the problems, explained all of the methods he tried, and told me exactly what needed to be done. Mike suggested I call an electrician to check the faulty wiring and explained exactly what they would do to test it. Though he was familiar with the process, he said that two electricians are going to need to come in and use special tools to detect and fix the issue. He was very apologetic that he couldn't fix the wiring himself. I was very impressed by this, especially since it was something outside his scope and the tools he had available. He told me that the electrician would be able to fix the wiring and then complete the hookup of the garage door opener. After all that, he put up the curtain rods quickly but carefully, making sure I had exactly the look I wanted. He also patched the wall carefully but quickly. He did a great job and cleaned up afterward. I was impressed with Mike, as a person, his effort, and his work. I appreciate that he is a perfectionist, much like me, and really puts his all into his work. Mike was wonderful, and I would definitely recommend him to others and have him do my future repairs!"

"Earlier this year we had Sam's Siding cover one side of our house with vinyl siding, due to some rotten masonite planks that needed immediate attention. We knew that eventually the rest of the house would need to be done. This time we did the front. Although we had already used them and Ishmael had given us a quote months earlier, he came out at our request and patiently answered all our questions and reviewed the scope before we signed. We signed the contract on Saturday, they were done within a few days. It is a complicated structure, with many angles, windows, corner pieces, etc. They placed insulation over the masonite, then covered it all in vinyl. It is beautiful. They did a great job and were very professional. I would definitely recommend them."

"Rick (Chuck's 'foreman' for our project) and his team not only preformed quality work, they also completed a quality clean up each day.  Something that really helped impress us.
As with any project of this size, they did find some additional work that needed to be done.  This included a major construction flaw that should have been identified by a previous siding/roofing contractor.Chuck and his team recommended solutions to this problem that in the end enhanced the overall quality and look of the work.
Overall, the work progressed as planned and we are very pleased with the results.  We love to show the finished work to our friends and neighbors.  Unfortunately, it appears we can not post pictures with our review. :(

"Contract was signed Oct. 15 2014, to be completed in 90 days. Finish was Feb.10 2015. Slight delays with weather and holidays. I was kept aware of all schedules. The builder used subcontractors. All were very professional and friendly. The work was well done. I was guided thru the process of a new construction with patients and reassurance.
The construction consisted of demolition and removal of the old garage. The ground was built up and prepared for a concrete slab, The framing and roughed in plumbing and electric were done within a week. Gary the GC made sure the property looked neat and clean after construction. It was a very smooth build.

Garages questions, answered by experts

Ensures adherence to local building codes and customized designs to fit personal needs.

We recommend hiring a garage door professional to install a garage door opener for you. Garage door openers aren’t terribly complex, but setting them up properly, setting the lift and drop speed, and installing sensors that work correctly can take a few hours for a DIYer. The cost to install a garage door opener is around $400, and it will save you a lot of time and frustration. Garage professionals have the skills and equipment necessary to work with potentially dangerous garage door components, like springs.

An average two-car garage size is about 580 square feet. A common dimension for a two-car garage is 24-feet deep by 24-feet wide, as measured by the interior width. However, the manufacturing of larger vehicle sizes means many homeowners want to build bigger garages. It’s not uncommon for a two-car garage to be 30-feet by 30-feet.

Keep the space clean, maintain storage systems, and promptly address any water leaks or insulation issues.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.
