"Woke up Friday morning with no hot water. Called Hill Plumbing Co and they were able send a technician before lunch. The technician was polite and even wore shoe covers over his boots. He said he could change out the elements but would would recommend changing the water heater due the water heater was over 20years old and was showing signs of rust along the bottom of the tank. By 2:00 pm I had hot water with my new water heater. The technician was very knowledgeable and truly appreciate his recommendation because when he removed my old water heater the bottom was covered in rust. To top it off he discounted me 10% because my wife teaches at Alice Drive Elementary.

"Just moved to Myrtle Beach. The former homeowner highly recommended ARS to maintain the two Carrier heat pumps ARS installed. So we joined the PROS Club @ ARS. Very happy to learn that ARS also does plumbing and electrical. Weâ ve already used Plumber Alan to fix a toilet problem. Electrician Shane installed a whole house surge protector, installed surge protectors on both ACs and both air handlers, and installed a plug at the electrical box for a power generator. Electrician Bill followed up to investigate why certain lights flicker when the clothes washer agitates. All three gentlemen were professional, friendly, and clearly described how they would help us. The PROS Club reduced our costs and helped us receive help sooner. We are happy with our first experiences with ARS and highly recommend them. - Laura & Mark VanValkenburg, The Bluffs on the Waterway"

"Earl Vereen removed big useless bathtub and installed a beautiful walk in shower. His workmanship is impeccable and he is an excellent craftsman. Also removed a small standup shower stall that was too small and outdated. I plan to use turn that area into storage shelves. Worked all day with no breaks and cleaned up any mess that existed. This is the second project I had West Shore (EARL) do for me. Highly recommend. Diana Kingsley Little River, SC"

"They were super friendly and honest. I was told by another company I needed my bathroom fans vented and the price was outrageous. They were able to locate the already installed vents instead of putting new ones in and was able to hook them up for me. I will definitely use them for future work"

"We shopped around and settled on MVFS because we thought they offered best product. MVFS encapsulated our crawl space plus put in 2 sump pumps/drains. We had it done right before "Debby" and there were some issues due to the amount of rain we got. We called MVFS and they immediately came out and rectified the situation. We worked with Mark (sales), Joe, Dez, Zach and Darryl (encapsulation guys) and all were professional, kind, they explained things well and worked till we were satisfied, even work late nights on occasion. We would definitely recommend them."

"Swift services rocks! From the gals in the office to the top notch techs and I?m not surprised because the performance in charge is a man of integrity . Integrity starts at the helm! Chris Thompson went beyond his call of duty. My tenant had no heat during a cold spell and the part wouldn?t be in until the next day. Chris T went back and brought a portable heater so the bedroom was warmer for the tenant! May God bless Chris T , his family and the entire Swift family abundantly! They have installed a new heat pump , HWH, in the past plus repairs and being a member gives you tremendous value. They are all extremely professional , and truly good folks. They keep in touch with you every step of the way. I am blessed from afar that God guided me to a company of integrity through Brown and Reeves HVAC who I had for a long time until they went out of business. They were fabulous as well and referred me to Swift . Swift Services are your GO TO People!! They do plumbing and electrical as well!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.

Yes, you can put a bathroom in a bump-out. Some homeowners build a bump-out to enhance their bathrooms with new sinks, vanities, tubs, showers, or linen closets. Depending on the layout of your bathroom and what you’re adding to it, you may need to install new plumbing or reroute your existing plumbing lines.

If there's no water coming out of the spigot, or barely any water, you might have a clogged water line. Areas with hard water are prone to this problem because the high mineral content in hard water causes build-up in pipes and water lines. This constricts the water flow and causes water to slowly trickle out, if at all.

Soldering is a secure way to fix a leaky copper pipe, but if you don’t have access to a soldering iron, you can use a slip repair coupling or compression couplings. These types of couplings tighten with a wrench or by hand. If you’re looking for a temporary solution that doesn’t require soldering, you can use epoxy putty or adhesive tape.

The most likely reason is rust. You can try using lubricant to loosen the metal components, but you’ll most likely need to call in a plumber to professionally sand down the rust without damaging the rest of your bathtub. If the rust is extensive, it might be a sign that you need to replace the plumbing.
