"My unit went out following a storm. Fearing lightning damage my insurance company told me to get three quotes. I was told by two other local companies that my unit needed to be replaced and could not be repaired. Turns out it was a simple fix that E.F. Martin wrote up for me to turn in to my insurance company and I was able to get the unit repaired without having to file a big claim which would make my premiums go up. I will definitely be using them in the future"

"Coty ALWAYS does the best work in the Midlands at very fair prices! He recently installed my garage Ductless Mini Split and it runs like a dream! Clean install, he picked up after himself when finished and he even explained the functions of my new unit before leaving. I couldnâ t be happier! I would recommend him to anyone."

"The technicians were tops, the wonderful lady who deals with financing has been working diligently to assist me with straightening out a mess caused by an employee who did Not inform me that there was more to the pad document that was not fully displayed. It did not show nor did the employee explain that an outfit called Green Skies could place a lien on my home if I made no payment in 60 days. The finance company could place the lien on my car which is more valuable than the central heating & air condition unit."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace an AC evaporator coil is typically between $600 and $2,500, with an average cost around $1,300 to $1,350. The price of the coil itself can range from $550 to $1,100, depending on the brand, size, and style, with professional labor adding around $700. Replacing a condenser coil is generally less expensive, costing about $800. Because this repair involves handling refrigerants, it requires a licensed AC professional. Regular inspections, which cost between $200 and $600, can help prevent costly coil replacements.

When your HVAC system is loud, a few different causes are possible. If you have loose connections or bolts in the hardware, they can rattle as the system runs and vibrates. If you have an extremely dirty furnace filter, it could cause the system to generate noise. More commonly, an excessively loud HVAC system indicates a malfunction in the system. You may have a blower motor that is close to failing or a compressor that is breaking down. These issues require an immediate inspection.

Yes. Return air vents are responsible for gathering and pulling in the warmer air. Once they draw it in, your system conditions the air by removing the warmer molecules from it, allowing your air conditioner to dispense the cooler air back into your home. Not only does this create a more comfortable environment for you, but it also keeps your air conditioner from overworking, resulting in lower energy bills.

Window ACs use 500 to 1,400 watts per hour of electricity, while mini-splits use 500 to 700 watts per hour. However, if you need to cool multiple zones in your house, your mini-split can use as much as 2,000 watts per hour. How often you run your system will impact how much electricity you use (and how much you pay per month).

An HVAC unit, like a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump, produces warm or hot air. The air ducts serve as the passages to help heat or cool air from the HVAC unit flow through the home. Air ducts are just one part of the overall HVAC system.
