  EXTREMELY well. I called on a Monday morning and they were there at noon. John, who came initially, diagnosed the problem as soon as he walked in the door. We located the access point and he used a snake to try to get to the blockage but 100 feet later he hadn't reached it. He called for re-inforcements after giving me all the options. I decided to go with a jet cleaner to blow it out and the owner of the company himself arrived with the equipment in 30 minutes. After clearing the line they put a camera down in it to make sure it was clear and that there was no damage (I have the cleanest sewer pipe in the county I think!). I got to watch so I saw for myself that everything was in good shape. Then before leaving they put a new top back on the access point (my yard person had accidentally run over it) and with my $20 off coupon from Angie's List the new cap was almost free!   I really just can't say enough great things about this business. I have used GS Plumbing consistently since I moved to Greenville - about 4 years ago. I have an older home that I renovated, so they have been there many times. They have done a multitude of things from replacing my hot water heater, to repairing a broken copper line, to replacement of valves, pipes, etc. Their pricing is fair and reasonable. Their expertise and professionalism are apparent no matter who comes out. The best part is that you don't see workers who come and go. These guys are in it for a career - that speaks volumes about the business itself. They show up when they say they will, they wear booties in your house and they clean up after themselves. They are personable and caring people. I wouldn't use anyone elseshow more

  The entire process went great from our experience. After the service person (Mike) realized we had a more serious problem than a simply clogged toilet, he walked us through all the possible options and the steps to be taken. When they came back to install a new drain, they worked very diligently and then even came back the next day to add grass seed and straw over the area where the drain was installed.   I've used them several times but not in the last six months. They did it twice as a matter of fact. There were tree roots and I have very old sewer pipes as I’m in the city. The roots can get into the clay pipes so I had to take the tree out because I didn't have much of a choice. They were very good and I liked them. I did use them again after the first time and I would use them again if I had a problem. The first time they came out here they told me in advance what it was going to cost. The first time it took a long time, may be close to two hours but there was not additional charge. It was a long time and I was shocked. They came right out because the first time I called, everything was backing up so it was an emergency. Something was wrong but I didn't know what was wrong. My washing machine started throwing out water and then started coming up to the sink. I called them, they came right out that day though it was late. It was a busy day for them but they came out like 4:30pm or 5 O'clock. As soon as he got there he told me what it would cost to wind up the sewer line because he knew what it was of course. I was very pleased and they took care of it at a reasonable price. They came right out and did the same thing the next time when I had the same problem. I would certainly recommend them. I'm always very hesitant with plumbers because I don't know anything and I have to rely on them. They were very upfront with it. I asked them what was wrong and asked them to explain it to me so that I can have some understanding of it. They were really willing to do that and I like when people are upfront. Their price was very fair and very reasonable because I've read on Angie's List that some of them are very high. They did the job and fixed it. They told me what was wrong and came back later because I had kept the tree but the roots grew back into the pipes just like he told me they would. I didn't want to get rid of the tree because I liked it but after that I realized that this was going to be an ongoing problem with my clay pipes. If I wanted to stop this and not damage the pipes any further, I was going to have to take the tree down. I couldn't have asked for more reasonable price. They came fast, told me what the problem was, told me how to solve the problem and it was all correct. I can't ask for a better experience and that with a plumber. They came when they said they were going to come the first time and the second time. They gave me a call during the day forty five minutes or an hour before they come. I liked that so I knew when to expect them. I know they can't give me an exact time because they are solving another problem before they come to my problem so sometimes it can take longer than expected.   We called our regular plumber who advised he didn't do sewer cleaning and advised us to check Angie's List. We did that and decided to try Ricks Sewer & Drain Service. I called Rick first thing Friday AM and he said he already had four jobs but would get to us ASAP. He said he would call from the job prior to us to let us know when he wold arrive as he understood our urgency. Rick called us around noon and said he'd be here around one pm. He was punctual, surveyed the problem, got his equipment and proceeded to clear our line from our house to the street. (Too nasty to describe.) He then had us run water in the tub and flush all commodes. Hurray, all plumbing drained properly and we were ready to go. Rick cleaned up and advised me of chemicals I could put in the clean-out plug regularly to prevent recurrence from plugs and tree roots. He only charged $140 for all his work (a national chain charged us $400 for the same work 2 years ago). We will use Rick again and recommend him to our friends and to Angie's membersshow more

  Roto-Rooter service pros visited my home three times, always quite punctual and thorough. The first technician augered the line so my plumbing was usable again. Because the snake didn't pull any roots or other debris out, and because this has been a recurring problem, the service pro suggested the line be examined with a camera. On the second visit, Dean scoped the line to check for problem spots and discovered several significant root masses in my line, one of which was located underneath the road. He suggested it be cut out with a water jet (to prevent digging into the ground/road) but went above and beyond to contact my local sewer district to see who held the ultimate responsibility for sewer issues underneath a public right-of-way. After a delay due to the sewer district, Dean returned with another service pro for the third visit, using the camera and water jet to remove the roots to the best of their ability.   Our septic tank and field is forty years old and had needed frequent pumping. I had the tank pumped in early January by Dr. Flush and requested an estimate for repairing our drain field. Ken showed up on time for our appointment and came up with a drain field remediation plan. He also gave me a price on the spot and told me to call when I was ready to schedule the work. Because the lid on the septic tank was to be replaced, I decided to wait until the tank needed pumping again. Due to excessive rain that turned out to be a little over one month. I called and scheduled a tank pumping on the next day and asked to be put on the work schedule. the next morning I received a phone call asking if they could do the whole project that day. By the time they had traced the pipes leading to the drain field and replaced the clogged ones, there was a huge ditch from the house through a graveled parking area and a shade garden with large potted plants. The workers had carefully moved all the large potted plants, stepping stones, and landscape timbers. When they finished finished that evening, the approximately 250 ft. trench through our front yard had been smoothed out and the gravel parking area had been restored to its original condition.   Cleared clog, replaced valve stems and re-puttied bathtub drain. Found that water pressure was already max. Low pressure at sink likely due to obstruction in faucet fixture. Abandoned effort to replace valve handle since might damage fresh water supply pipe at valve.

  We didn't have particularly high expectations from the beginning. It's not that we expected incompetence, we just thought we'd be lucky -- period -- to get our sewer line cleared on a Sunday. We also thought we'd be lucky to see someone before nightfall. And, because we'd called a national chain (Roto Rooter), we assumed we'd probably get mixture of a somewhat-competent service person and a "hard sell" of expensive services. Frankly, we didn't care. We just wanted our sewer line cleared. Our heart sank when an answering service took our initial call. However, we received a follow-up call within 5 minutes after speaking with the answering service. We were ecstatic when Bill Ramsey from Roto Rooter arrived at our home within an hour of our initial call. We were very pleased to have anybody show up so quickly on a Sunday afternoon. Bill was great....a true professional, with absolutely no hard-sell. After checking things out, he told us he suspected tree roots were our problem. He thought the whole thing would be solved with an "auger job", but said it was possible that he could encounter other issues. However, he cautioned not to fear the worst, but to be aware of the possibilities. It turned out that tree roots were indeed the culprit. Bill had to cut through several. The whole thing took a little more than an hour. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The price was a little more than we'd initially expected -- but certainly not unreasonable,,..and very worth the service rendered. We also learned that Bill was much more than a sewer guy. He was a highly trained and experienced plumbing professional who could service any plumbing issue we might encounter in our house. Bottom line -- we will definitely call Rotor Rooter again for our next plumbing need of any kind. And we will specifically ask for Bill Ramsey. We know he'll be there quickly and do a great jobshow more
