"The guy was excellent and did a great job. I just wasn’t expecting such a high price. The woman on the phone said it would be between $196-$396 but it was almost $500. Truthfully for a couple of hundred more I could have just had a brand new window put in."

They respected my space, kept the job site tidy, and completed the project right on schedule. "Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

"My guy Logan is the jack of all trades. I’m doing a 800sq ft. Apartment above my house. I hired him to do drywall and finishing. He did an amazing job. Everything is nice and flush. He came back and did touch ups no questions asked. Not only did he do an outstanding job. He went above and beyond and helped me With other stuff I didn’t even hire him to do. Like sub flooring. Building my attic. I blew a switch upstairs was really bummed about it and he even fixed that ! He’s really good at what he does. Highly recommended!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Cracks, holes, water damage, and dents from heavy equipment often require repair.

You can plaster over regular drywall, but it's essential to prepare the surface properly. Before plastering, the drywall should be clean, free of dust, and any loose or peeling paint should be removed. Applying a primer specifically designed for plastering can improve adhesion. Some professionals recommend applying a base coat of plaster or joint compound to create a better surface for the plaster to adhere to. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and durable plaster finish over regular drywall.

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.

Yes, professionals often repair minor wall openings made for insulation injection to restore the surface.
