"What a great experience. Mr. Sizemore texted me before he arrived, showed up on time, gave me an estimate, far better than previous estimates I had gotten, and even said he had the materials to do the repair job right then. He went to work, replaced 15 boards on my fence, cleaned up and was finished in about 20 minutes. I was completely amazed. My neighbors saw him working, and both immediately asked him to do some work for them as well. He was very friendly and took multiple forms of payment, so that made that part easy. I would definitely recommend him and would hire him again. Five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Luke was a gift! I moved from Colorado into a new home in Prattville, walked in the door and immediately realized I couldn’t live with the existing DIY paint job. I called Luke’s Painting, their estimate was $1400.00 less than their competitors, he started painting two days later. Luke was professional, honest, hard working and always cognizant of the fact that I was working from home while he was painting. The finished product is amazing, a realtor commented on how clean the lines are. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Luke’s Painting!"

"Mr. Beeler and his crew were a pleasure to work with.  This is a simple operation but they have the knowledge and skill to do any type of concrete job.  As with many smaller local operations, this was a very casual engagement, mostly through txt messages and email (there was no formal contract but that did not bother me at all as we had txt records of the conversation).  This was a small job but it ended up being a bit more than what I thought it would be. Having said that, this was considered to be a relatively small job and I had a bit of runaround from other contractors and couldn't even get to have somebody come look at it.  Mr Beeler came, looked and promptly told me what needed to be done.  Once the first part of the job was done, it was unfortunately not looking very good. I called Mr Beeler and he came and looked at it and was upset and extremely apologetic (he had another member of the crew work on it and told me they had to use a lesser grade of concrete because they couldn't put the right equipment through my narrow driveway).  In the end, he made it right and offered to pave over it with whatever I wanted, at no extra cost. We chose thin brick pavers and they came within the week and installed them. While the crew was there, they did some other extra things without charging anything. For instance, they removed an old metal fence (we are selling the house and had a list of things to do) and took it away. They also fixed some minor cracks on the brick outside the house. Overall based on my experience, I would use Mr. Beeler again for other concrete repair jobs."

"The job was done in a very professional manner paying attention to detail and quality of the supplies provided and used for the fencing. The job was done efficiently and exactly to the specifications that I required. He made sure that I was satisfied with the job at different stages of the construction. I had one or two specific things that I wanted done and he made sure that they were installed properly as they were being done. He worked very neatly and cleaned up all of the property of any cut or waste materials. His men were very proficient at performing their individual tasks paying attention once more to quality and to my satisfaction.

"We dealt with Chris Manus who was great from the very beginning.  He came out to the house and we talked through the project. He was very open as to some of the problems he saw.  The existing steps of the stairway ( installed by the homes previous owners) were not to code and would have to be changed. The first week was demolition of the bonus room, framing in the open stairway, building a new landing and moving the existing landing steps, insulation and drywall. Moving a couple of electrical outlets/switches. They did an oustanding job pieceing together the wood flooring from matching remnants that we had, both up in the bonus room and in the kitchen/landing area.
The second week  after drywall they did all the wood work, replaced the exisiting pine steps with the appropriate length oak planks. So much safer and easier to walk up and down the steps. He added a spindled railing in the room where the wall had once been giving the room a loft effect.  They moved the kitchen/garage door to the new opening and reframed the old opening.  Lastly the steps were stained and the room was was painted.  We also had them change a bedroom door. The door was replaced and the casings all redone and painted.
His knack for details was impressive. He and his workers were very professional, neat and respectful of our home.  We allowed them access to our home while we were not there and felt completely comfortable doing so. Since we weren't home Chris was in contact with us daily as to what had been done each day and what to expect the next.
All supplies were provided, all we had to supply was paint and stain colors. We would highly recommend Manus Construction and will definitely have them back when the need arises.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on material quality, fence length and height, installation complexity, and customization choices, but they average $20-$40 per linear foot.

When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.

You can buy wrought iron fencing from a trusted fence installation company near you. You could also opt to buy it privately from a homeowner who is interested in recycling their own wrought iron materials. Manufacturers stopped mass production of wrought iron as steel became more affordable to produce, so you likely won't find it in any local big box stores.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

Most homeowners don't need to inform their neighbors before constructing a fence, according to the law, but you will need to make sure that you’re building on the property line or on your side of the property line. Otherwise, the neighbor could complain, which would require you to tear down and reinstall the fence. In any case, keeping them in the loop is the neighborly thing to do!

Whether you inform your neighbors or not, always use property records and a land survey to ensure your fence stays within your property boundaries.
